Could you expand your idea? What pick would you need to mine these, what is their rarity, are they specific to any biome, in what layers are they found, etc.
While I dislike the OPs attitude, I also like the idea of having copper in the game. In fact, the iron ore and iron block both look more like copper than iron (it's a dull yellow, like copper).
It's true that realistically, copper ore would look green (because in nature copper is usually found as copper oxide which is green) but I don't think I want that level of realism in MC, especially since we already have a green block (emerald).
But having copper, tin and zinc in the game would open up the possibility of crafting brass and bronze to make new items such as a pistol (needs iron) with bullets (needs bronze), a cannon (needs bronze) and cannonballs (ooooh, lead, anyone?) or if none of those, bronze swords and armor (slightly stronger and more durable than plain iron but not as good as diamond). Brass? Decorative fittings such as handles for doors.
Or, maybe I'm just wishing and all of this would make the game too complicated.
I demand it!
