As I've played through Minecraft, I've noticed that Swamp biomes are pretty much useless. Sure, they have trees and water, but thats pretty much it. Here are some things I think should be changed about Swamp biomes.
Additions
Add new mobs(Frogs, gators, etc.)
New Blocks(Mud, puddles, even muddy leaves.)
Diffirent plants( Taller, darker trees that range from 5 to 9 blocks high, and bushes made of leaves.)
New items(Mud balls, Muddy water, Bucket of muddy water, etc.)
And more!
Whatta you guys think? I will not except rude comments like, "This idea sucks." or "Better Swamps? Yeah right." without a good reason to why you don't like it. OK? Unnecessisary Rudeness=Failure.
I definitely agree that swamps are useless, so I support this. Although if anything the trees should be taller, and there should be bushes like in Jungles.

Like the idea of mud. I 'd it would be better to add a new block called "muddy water" which occurs in between the dirt and the water,something like a sub-block. If you collect the "muddy water" block and put it in the crafting bench you can make 4 bricks which then you have to lie them down to dry before you use them to make brick blocks.
Hey guys, real quick, anybody have an idea of the stats and drops, damage, etc. for the Alligators and Frogs?
Frogs would drop Frog Legs, which could be used as a food that raw would heal 1/2 hunger, but poison you. Cooked, they could heal 4 hunger.
Alligators I'm guessing would have many hearts, a rough estimate is 4 hearts more than the player. Also, they would have damage reduction the equivalent of iron armour, from their scales. Bows would not damage them.
The alligators would do damage equivalent to an iron sword, and negate armour bonuses. (Example, if you were wearing diamond armor it would still hit you like you weren't wearing armor.) They would only become agressive if you came within 5 blocks of them.
Onto the drops. The gators would drop alligator scales, and with them you could craft armour. The armour would have the protection as iron, but would have a durability the same as diamond.
Thats the answer to your question, just my thoughts.
Another mob I thought of was snakes. They would be agressive and do 3 hearts each hit, poisoning you. If you wore metal armour they would have a 50% chance of missing you. Snakes could drop a snake fang, which, if held in your hand, would poison any mob you hit with it.

Now for my suggestions:
1) Catfish mob (Can catch and cook)
2)Mangrove trees
3)Tall grass in the muddy water where gators would hide
