I think a great addition to Minecraft would be bedrock and obsidian bricks. They would be crafted similarly to stone bricks; in a 2x2 square. The whole point of these two blocks would be that they can be affected by pistons. This would be very helpful for map makers that want to make redstone doors not breakable by explosions or the player. It would also allow players to make locked doors that cannot be broken super easily. Btw, the bedrock bricks would still be unbreakable.
The bedrock bricks don't need a crafting recipe since that would be rather redundant, but the whole point of the obsidian bricks was to give players in SSP/SMP an explosion immune block that can be manipulated by pistons. Why make the obsidian bricks otherwise?
I would love it if you checked out my "about me" page on my profile and looked at my threads

Curse PremiumAnd Obsidian Bricks ARE craftable, but they are not affected by pistons.
All the other things sound good.
Obsidian bricks are not craftable. You have to mine them with a diamond pickaxe. (Water + Lava makes them if you mean it like that)
Oh,
