It would be great to have these as food options! Make it so squids and sheep give raw food so we can make cooked lambchops and fried calamari. Also make a crafting recipe for pumpkin pie which would be wheat in the shape of a bowl with a pumpkin in the middle because pumpkins aren't too useful right now.
This is an awesome Idea I love it! Squids need to give some kind of food and same for sheeps!! Pumpkin pie should come from cooking pumpkins! Your right pumpkins are useless. I can't believe mojang hadn't thought of such an awesome thing!

There is already to much d*** food options in minecraft we don't need more. Pumpkins are useful, did you know that pumpkins + torches will make a jack o' lantern??? They are fairly bright making them good for caves, since they are easier to get than glowstone... also sheep are designed to give you wool, squids to give you dye, go kill a pig/cow for meat...

read my comment above, they arent freaking useless...
They are useful if:
1. You want to waste your time making a hoe, 2 buckets, and venturing out to get pumpkins, just to plant the seeds in a garden and do nothing but combine the pumpkins you harvest with torches to get a fairly useless block as bright as a normal torch.
2. You like mining for hours to get 36 iron, smelt that into ingots, make those into blocks, and build a golem that does nothing but lumber around very slowly, become an enderman's punching-bag, and/or block your doorway/path when it's trying to walk into a pathway that's too small for it.
3. You want to make a snowman that does nothing but throw snowballs at creepers (thus making the creeper go to where the snowman is - usually just outside your front door or something, and kaBOOM); throw snowballs at endermen (thus committing suicide); throw snowballs at just about every other evil overworld mob that's nearby, then getting scared and sneaking up behind you with a mad horde of just about every evil mob in the overworld coming to kill you and your pumpkin-headed snow-pile; or just run out into a desert and melt to death (thus committing suicide).
4. You think that jack 'o' lanterns scare monsters.
5. You're bored.
6. You are in SMP and you want to sell them to n00bs that need them for reasons #1 thru #5.
So, pumpkin pie would be a great addition to the game - IF you have to cook it (shouldn't you have to cook cake and bread too?) and if it can be placed like cake, can be used 4 times, each use removing 1/4th of the pie, in the same manner as if it is in normal pie-slice pattern.
I said pumpkins aren't *too* useful in regards to having a farm full of them and constantly harvesting them. I also understand that sheep were meant to give wool but they could also give food like the way cows give food when they used to give only leather. With this in mind it would be nice if squids gave food also. It's not that we need more food options, I just figured it was a wasted opportunity.
Guys, PUMPKINS AREN'T USELESS. They protect you from Endermen.
But I don't like this food idea all that much. Makes it too easy to get food in a survival world.

Really? Because they are about as bright as glowstone, easy as **** to make and get, etc, making them great for large caves, they also keep enderman away. And as as I said we already have 20 billion d*** food options, I don't need yet two more things filling my chests up, cows, pigs, wheat, etc are super easy to farm.
No support. No, pumpkins are not useless. Like I've said to the other 800 people who made a "sheep should drop food!" threads, there's enough food in the game, the same goes for the amount of threads that suggest this.

4..? You mean 22?
So you call raw meat, rotten flesh and spider eyes "food"?
And pumpkins are practically useless. Snow golems and iron golems do a shitty job of protecting your property from hostile mobs, and I very frequently find myself dying of hunger whenever I'm adventuring and I run out of food.
And I've noticed something. You never seem to show support for any of the suggestions that are posted.

...Yes? Rotten Flesh is a very expendable food source. Raw meat is food too... You may not have the materials or time to cook the stuff but it can still keep the hunger bar at bay. The Spider Eyes can be useful too in a strange way, if you have one shank empty on the hunger bar, it'll refill both the hunger and health regeneration part after the 4 seconds of poison.

Snow Golems are good for just simple distractions. Iron Golems don't give two shits about you, they just beat the hell out of any nearby hostile mob they can - if the hulking 100-health Iron Golem was made to serve you, it'd be overpowered. You still have something that protects you from looking at Endermen and a very bright light source that can be used underwater if you don't have Glowstone.
I wouldn't mind the addition of pumpkin pie, but no, pumpkins are not that useless.

So having sheep and squid drop food will magically fix that problem? Not everyone may have that same issue as you.

Dead wrong. I have supported or partially supported some ideas that come through here, although that's rare I admit. You also don't have to post on my profile feed to tell me that. If suggestions that are not thought out and/or are repeats because people stick with being lazy and not using the search bar, then yes, I'll point that out.
