I think it would be kinda neat if a piston could psuh a block in the purple portal within the obsidian frame to make portal go away. Like turn it off. Cause the only way (That i know of) to remove the purple portal is by breaking a obsidian block.
Its annoying to have a nether portal in the base, when i hear that strange sound all the time! So i have to break a obsidian block every time i want to shut it down..
And you would be able to make neat things with portals if piston were able to shut down a portal!
I believe if you shoot a fire charge at the portal blocks from a dispencer, it will de-activate it.
I have kinda tried that. From my experience it didnt work.
I were building a thing that made the Portal get ignited, with a dispenser shooting a firecharge trough a wall, which started the portal, but if i shoot it one more time it didnt go of. But it might not work that way. Maybe it only works if i shoot it like, straight forward. gonna test it out right now!
A dispenser with a bucket of water will deactivate the portal. < Relevant
I dont want the Obsidian frame to be seen either so i put a 2x3 sticky piston wall behind so when im done using it i can just flick a lever to close the inside of the obsidian frame, and a dispenser cant be moved with sticky pistons.
