Ok I know some of the following might have been suggested in some way or form but I am saying them any way.
Oceans, they are huge, they are vast, and they are boring! Least in Minecraft. I can't tell you how many times I have started a new world and found myself on a little island with not even one tree to make tools from and endless ocean at all sides. Exploration has become a chore more then a joy when you are on your boat over an hour going in 1 direction and not seeing land for miles. They need something....something to make us want to go into the deep blue, something truely worth while.
Tropical Island: A wonderful site to anyone who has been seeing nothing but blue water for days on end. There are lots on these small land masses. A few things you can find are...
Jungle Trees: Much like in the jungle, these trees can be quite tall and be covered in vines to climb. They also may have a few coco plants growing on them. But another new tree you might find are...
Palm Trees: A tropical tree most common on these islands, they spawn near the sand and water of the island, supplying Coconuts that can be harvested and turned into Coconut Milk to cure poison. And your going to need that cure for...
Poison Frogs: Don't let their small size fool you, if you mess with these little guys they will hit back and cause you to get sick! Thankfully you have some coconut milk to cure yourself. They usually drop their legs for a quick meal, but not everything on these islands can kill you. Things like...
Parrots: Colorful birds that like to spawn near or around jungle trees or palm trees. They come in 3 colors (Red, Green, or Blue) and actually enjoy people. You can tame a parrot by giving it seeds and it will follow you where ever you go. They also will protect you when in battle, pecking the ememy in the air. On top of that, they will go grab any items that drop in front of the player and will bring it back to you with in a 5 block radius but just remember they hate cats! But you know who else has parrots?
Pirates: You think your the only one that wants to explore the sea? Well best watch out for pirates! This mob spawns with a boat, and usually a sword or bow, never afraid to fight you in the water. When on land they jump out of their boat to take chase. Upon death they can drop their weapons, boat, or maybe a little of their gold. They come in three classes: Landlubber (swords), Swashbuckler (Bows), and Captain (sword and Parrot). But remember, where there are pirates, there are...
Ship Wrecks: Usually spawning under the waves or on the shores of islands, these can be a sorce of both wood where none can be found as well as some chests filled with goodies to help any survivor. That is...if they can get passed....
Sharks: Fast swimmers, these preditors of the deep will sneak up on you when you least expect it as they are a mob that will be hostile no matter what comes near it. It will also attack people in boats. Loot they commonly drop are their teeth which can be used to create....
Spears: A weapon that has stood the test of time, able to jab with it or throw it at an enemy. A long pole with a sharp shark tooth on the end will make hunting easy for those stranded on islands looking for food. But what food will they be hunting?
Fish: Coming in many colors and sizes, these creatures will drop their meat when attacked, or can be collected in a bucket and moved into a pool to start a player fish tank. Larger fish are not able to be caught, only hunted, and small fish can grow larger by feeding them....
Growth Food: Made by combining Carrots, Photatoes, (*Coming soon*) and Bone Meal together will create a nice treat for fish and allow them to grow from small, to medium, large, and huge size. The bigger they are, the more meat they can supply. Huge sized fish can only be made by feeding them, but there are other things the player can eat such as...
Crabs: A mod that likes to spawn near water or under the ocean, much like slimes, they only spawn in particular chunks. They also come in 3 sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) and all will usually attack the player if bothered, but only the large ones will attack on sight. Usually spawning in groups of 3 - 5, 1 out of them is usually a medium with the large being quite rare. When killed, they usually drop 1 - 4 crab legs or 1 - 2 crab claws, each able to be cooked to be eatten. But be sure to check the sand for...
Clams: Digging in the sand, one of these little guys might be hiding in this block. Usually you might find a sand block that has a lighter color then the other sand around it, this is where one of these little guys are hiding. Instead of dropping a sand block, it will reveal a small clam which can be picked up. Once in hand, you can open them up by right clicking on it, usually supply clam meat that can be cooked, but also...
Pearls: A lovely piece of jewlery, but doesn't have much function on it's own except for decoration or multiple pearls can be combined to make a pearl block. When combined with Gold, Diamond, Lapas and Redstone, the pearl can become an Empowered Pearl, and combining that with a compas will make...
Ore Finder: A special compas that can find Gold, Lapas, Redstone, or even Diamond! This compas will point in the direction of one fo these ore blocks with in a 10 block radius (But not say if it is up or down). Whenthe player is with in 2 blocks away the dial will start to spin wildly to allert the ore close by. Another helpful tool can also be a...
Camp Fire: By combining four sticks together, a player can make a small camp fire when making a furnace is just not in the cards at the moment. The fire place will keep on burning so long as wood, sticks, or sapplings are used as fuel. It also creates a small light sorce so you can always find your camp and will cook any food you place in it, but can not cook ore. Want to store some soup or water? Combine it with a Cauldron to create a...
Cookery: Now you can really start cooking with all the new kinds of food you have discovered! Mix and match to create awsome meals that will restore health as well as grant you or your friends buffs more powerful then a simple potion. Just be sure not to make yourself sick.
*I am sure I could add more, and I know some are already in mods, but I want to see these in the actual game without modding*
Pearls, if added, may serve other purposes, such as brewing potions, increasing enchantibility, or trading.
Other than that, I do have one objection - the Ore Finder is probably too OP. No matter how weak it is, and no matter how hard it is to craft, it would simply allow players to get ores very easily once it's crafted.
This in a fantastic idea But most fo these are already ( If i'm right) in the tropicraft mod!
Some are, but like I said I would want it added to vanilla and not be part of a mod.
Also as far as the Ore Finder goes, as stated it does not tell you if the ore is above you or below you. Still would make you explore, still takes a bit to find the ore needed to even craft it, and after a while finding diamonds becomes a chore that doesn't really have a pay off that great anymore so this made it a little easier.
