In real life, when you mine gold, it's found in crystal-like vein things in the rock, not ore that you smelt in a furnace. Once it's mined, you get a bunch of gold nuggets. Luckily, gold nuggets already exist in Minecraft, but they are only dropped by zombie Pigmen. So, here's how to update gold to be more realistic: Make each gold ore drop 8-10 gold nuggets when mined. The only way to get ingots, besides pigmen and chests, will be to craft it. This is kind of a small suggestion, but it will make gold more realistic without changing gameplay.

When will Minecraft stop updating? When pigs fly over the frozen plains of hell, twice in a blue moon, while Taylor Swift sings a song called, "Maybe I'm the Problem".
There is nothing overtly wrong with this, other than breaking a convention that currently exists with iron ore. However, it's a very low priority on my list.

Well, it doesn't really change gameplay much, it's just a realism fix.

Also people could randomly get a gold nugget while mining stone, low chance ofc
but good idea though, also the fortune enchant will work on gold this way
