I just thought that maby steel could be added into mincraft. It would be made by putting an iron ingot into a furnace, the smellting would take two times longer than it is to smelt iron because it is hardening it into steel. Steel would be just a little bit better than iron but not as good as gold. But steel woud not break as easy because it is harder. Also the resipie for flint and steel would change to steel and flint because it is in the name of it. Steel blocks would be a chrome like color with bolts around the sides. And you can use steel blocks to make Steel Golems. They are slightly faster than Iron Golems because they are lighter. And another thing you can use it for is you can replace flint with a steel ingot on the arrow resipie and it makes a steel arrow.
If another material would be introduced in the game, it should have a lot more use than just some new weapons and armor. Otherwise, you're just copy and pasting iron but giving it a small stat boost and renaming it "steel". Note how iron, gold and diamond have a wider use than just weapons and armor.
Yes, Lapis doesn't have much use, but it's just a dye.

I had an idea for Steel, but it was just smelting Iron Blocks into Steel Blocks, which were very sturdy and made a great reinforcement/building material, but couldn't be used to make tools or armor. They could be used for new crafting recipes, perhaps, but I couldn't think of any.
Ok i added a few more things to the list besides the normal uses for all the other metals.
The Steel Golem is just flat-out overpowered. The Iron Golem is pretty strong as is, so there's no point upgrading him. You can actually beef up an Iron Golem already by hitting him with positive effect potions. The steel-tipped arrows sound interesting, but enchantments already take the role of upgrading what arrows can do.

It would not make his stronger just faster because he is lighter.

I agree with 0_Zippy. You need to add more uses.

It doesn't matter, there's no need for another golem that's so similar to the Iron one.
