Craft it like a cauldron made of stone, with stone pressure plate on the top.
Put it down somewhere, and right click it, it looks like this!

To fill it with stew, you do this:
In the left 3 spaces put 8 red shrooms, 8 brown shrooms, and a bucket o water.
In the top right space you put 2 coal.
Once it's all in there and u put the 2 coal, it makes hot stew, enough to fill 8 bowls by right clicking the block, in the bottom right space, it gives you the bucket back.
The block will look like a cauldron with a coal spot instead of legs at the bottom, with a pressure plate lid.
Make the placed block have a steam/smoke effect?
WHAT YE THINK? I always use dispensers with a stone plate on top, to store bowls of stew like a pot of stew... but this would be better.
For an example, you could add a couple of ingredients: cooked meats (all 3), mushrooms (both of them), carrots, and potatoes.
Right click on the cauldron with any of those items, and it'll be added to the water (you can see chunks of what you put in floating in the water).
Right click on the cauldron with flint and steel when you're done, and the water will boil for around 10 seconds. Then, you can scoop some of the stew out in a bowl (three scoops to a cauldron) and you have some soup.
The hunger the stew will heal changes depending on the ingredients added.
Each ingredient added, when added to the stew, will add the following amounts of hunger:
Beef/Porkchops: 3 hunger (1 1/2 units of hunger)
Chicken: 2 hunger (1 unit of hunger)
Mushrooms: 1 hunger each (1/2 a unit each)
Potato: 1 hunger (1/2 a unit)
Carrots: 1 hunger (1/2 a unit)
That's, in total, twelve (of twenty) hunger restored. You get 36 hunger per batch you make.
In addition, there are special recipes. When a special recipe is made in the cauldron, cream-colored smoke particles will slowly rise from the stew. It also has a unique name and sprite instead of just "stew".
Mushroom stew: One of both mushrooms. Changed to recover 5 hunger (a two and a half units), considering that it makes 3 batches.
Beef stew: Beef, plus carrots and potatoes. Recovers 10 hunger (the same as old mushroom soup).

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
Ok! Good idea dude! I hope they use our ideas! Don't forget about fish though, but I'd only use veggies and mushrooms. I always play a Treekin, who's a herbivore. God bless ya.
