Bedrock is useful on servers and in challenge maps, as it lets you create impervious walls to keep players out of restricted zones.
The problem is it doesn't look very refined. It's fine for natural formations, but bedrock doesn't look that good if you use it to create buildings.
I suggest adding bedrock brick, which would function exactly like bedrock but have an attractive pattern of gray lines on it. It would look a bit better if used to create a wall.
Along the same lines, bedrock fencing would also be fantastic. This would function exactly like wood fencing, transparent and too high to jump over, except it would be invulnerable.
Both obviously would only be accessible in creative mode, just like regular bedrock.
I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who like video games. I hate people who are hateful. I hate people that don't like spam. I hate people who like cake. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
It would be nice to have an invulnerable barrier that you can still see through. That way you could create bedrock cage walls, so players can look and see things they can't reach.

Good point.
Bedrock walls should still be added in addition to those, though.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Diamonds.

+1 for being original.

Curse PremiumThen again, Survival maps with Adventure elements would be able to benefit from this, as long as they were Creative exclusive.
