Hello Everyone! Today I want Jeb and Notch to know my new enchantment ideas!
READ THE WHOLE THING! You will most likely miss the important details in each
enchantment, and you will get a misunderstanding of what the enchantment does!
For those who hate on this idea already, Jeb said that he would like to see more

Why do we need more enchantments? :
In a tweet Jeb posted, he said that he would like to see some more enchantments
in the game. Also, it adds more variety to the game, and who wouldn't want more

Yes, it is true that other posts talk about this, but the enchantments on this page will
blow you away! Many of the comments here have great feedback about this thread,
and trust me it will be worth reading. These are very unique enchantments! -Dingo:Good
New Sword Enchantments :
Spark | Max Lv. IV
What the spark enchantment does is, when you hit a mob, lightning strikes onto the
mob, but it doesn't light it on fire (that would take away the Fire Aspect enchantment).
It deals a half heart more, and knocks the mob a bit (knocks far less than Knockback).
Now, I know that it kinda takes away the Knockback enchantment and sharpness a bit,
but the effect doesn't work under a roof and the nether because lightning wouldn't be
able to go through the roof. The higher the level, the more damage the lightning will deal. -Dingo:Just Mobs? How about it makes a bright flash and has the same effects as Lightning but not an explosion/splash that seems to harm everyone in the near vicinity. Making it a rare "Lv. I" enchantment.
Gravity | Max Lv. III
The Gravity enchantment makes it so that when you hit a mob/player they will be tossed
3 blocks into the air. This works well with Knockback. The bad thing about this enchantment
though is that it will be hard for you to hit your opponent when they get knocked into the air.
Don't think this is an unfair enchantment because it really doesn't help you to much. Every
level, 1 block will be added to the toss. -Dingo:OP, sorry to say but i can see this going very badly for the flow of pvp. Because people getting launched in the air just means you get to A:Skeet Shoot B:Get hit by a critical dropping attack C:Falling Off Structures/Cliffs and does essentially the same thing as Knockback. {SCRAP IT}
Exhaust | Max Lv. IV
When you hit a player with the Exhaust enchantment there is a 10% chance that they will lose
half-hunger. If they already ran out of food, they will take a half heart of damage. Every level,
the chances of them losing hunger increases by 10%. This enchantment is good because if
they lose all of their hunger, they will be damaged from it. Also, if they only have 3 hunger bars
left, they can't sprint. -Dingo:I'm not too sure about this one. That's all i can really say for this one. {SCRAP IT???}
Bust | Max Lv. IV
With the Bust enchantment, you have a 20% chance of getting a critical hit on your opponent.
Right now, the only possible way of getting a critical hit is by jumping and hitting your target
which could be annoying and makes your hit less accurate. Every level, an extra 15% is added
to the probability of getting a critical hit. -Dingo:I think jumping is reasonable already for a critical hit. I am big in PVP and think this would also set the system off. {SCRAP IT}
Noxious | Max Lv. II
The Noxious enchantment gives you a 5% chance to poison your opponent and a 5% chance
of giving your opponent the nausea effect. If you didn't know, the nausea effect is an unused
potion effect that disorientates your opponent. Similar to the effect when you walk into a Nether
portal. Anyways, at level one, the effects only last for 5 seconds. Noxious II makes the potion
effects last 2 seconds longer, and makes the chances of getting the potion effects higher also.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to give someone both the poison and the nausea. -Dingo:YES! POISON! YES! {KEEP IT} Legend | Max Lv. III
The Legend enchantment makes your sword's durability last longer. This is exactly the same as
the Unbreaking enchantment for tools, but I think this should now be implemented into a sword
enchantment. You know how Unbreaking works, so I won't explain what this enchantment does
since they are the same. Why is it called Legend though? Excellent question! The reason is
because in those fairy-tale stories, the hero would have a Legendary sword that would last him a
very long time. The name is just my idea. If you feel there is a reason to change it, post it in the

New Bow Enchantment :
Rapid Fire | Max Lv. I
The Rapid Fire enchantment allows you to draw back your bow 2x faster. This has probably
been in a couple of other posts, but I decided to go further into detail. If you have missed
the instant drawback of your bows from beta, this is the right enchantment for you. -Dingo:I actually have this featured in a mod i am working on at the Studio. Quite good but it should only speed it up by 25%, fifty can make it almost impossible to charge someone on an open battlefield. {KEEP IT}
Marksman | Max Lv. III
Marksman allows you to shoot targets from much farther. The distance of the arrow will increase
by about 5-10 blocks every level. If I'm not mistaken, the Power enchantment for the bow does not increase your bow range, so this might be a convenient enchantment. This DOES NOT increase
the damage of your bow though because that would be like the Power enchantment. -Dingo:A good concept but not sure what you mean, clarify? {???}
Frost | Max Lv. III
This has been posted in many other threads, so this is not my original idea, but I'm still including
this into my list of enchantments. The frost enchantment makes it so that when your arrow hits
a player or a mob, they will get a slowness effect for 1 second. Blue swirls will be seen coming from
the player hit. Why blue swirls? Because it fits the name. When you hit someone with Frost II
they will have slowness for one extra second. -Dingo:Frost should have snowflake particles flow off of you and slow you for at least 3-9 seconds(I,II,III) {KEEP IT}
Volley | Max Lv. V
The Volley enchantment makes it so that when your arrow is in mid-air, it splits into 3 different arrows.
This can be possible if Dinnerbone programs the arrow to split after 1/2-1 seconds. I wouldn't say
this is an OP enchantment because there's a very little chance that not all of the arrows will hit
your target. If you have less than the number of required arrows needed for the split, it will just fire a
single arrow. Every level, 1 arrow will be added to the volley. -Dingo:A shotgun would be easier to program but the arrows would collide in the air regardless. {???}
Bullseye | Max Lv. III
Have you ever seen that curve up the y axis and it made your accuracy worse? Well, with the
Bullseye enchantment, that is completely removed! The arrow shoots straight without the
gravity pulling it down. After the arrow has reached however far your normal shot would be,
the arrow would immediately drop. This enchantment would be good for accuracy, but it would
not go farther than what a normal arrow could go. -Dingo:Making it more accurate takes half the skill out of it, hence i actually do have accuracy contest for archery on my server. {SCRAP IT}
New Tool Enchantment :
Alacrity | Max Lv. I
Have you ever felt that small pause when you are strip mining or when you are just breaking some
blocks? That's because there actually is a small pause between breaking blocks! This enchantment
completely removes that small pause which will result in faster mining. This enchantment is very
similar to the Efficiency enchantment, but they can actually have different uses. The difference
between the two are the Efficiency enchantment breaks blocks faster while the Alacrity
enchantment removes that pause between a block breakage. That is the difference. If you think
I should remove this enchantment, I would have no problem with it just back it up with a few good
reasons. -Dingo:Sorry to say but useless, and reduces acuracy with a diamond pick to less then 0. and would play hell with block updating. {SCRAP IT}
New Pickaxe Enchantment :
Prospect | Max Lv. III
What the Prospect enchantment does is, when mining stone there is a 1/500 chance of
getting a gold ore when under level 31, a 1/500 chance of getting an iron ore, and a
1/150 chance of getting bone or rotten flesh. Why do you say bone or rotten flesh? It
makes sense. Bones for those skeletons that died for whatever reason, and same
with rotten flesh just with zombies. The higher level the enchantment, the higher chances
of getting iron and gold rises; bone and rotten flesh don't rise because it would clutter up
one's inventory. -Dingo:I'm not too sure about this one, but it has decent statistics. How about they just make fossils for the bones, anything underground would be dissolved of flesh if its that low. {PERHAPS}
Reward | Max Lv. II
Every ore you mine, you get +5 XP from it. This does not work with gold ore and iron ore. To get
the extra XP from gold and iron, you must smelt it, otherwise you will be able to get infinite XP. At
level two, we get +10 XP instead of 5. -Dingo:Now this i kinda like but just a Lv.I
New Axe Enchantment :
Timber | Max Lv. III
First off, I'd like to say this is not my original idea. The link will be below. What this
enchantment does is, when you mine a tree, the 2 wood blocks above the wood you mined
will also drop. Every level, +1 wood blocks will drop. About griefing; It's going to take the
griefer a lot of time to get this enchantment, and many griefers aren't that dedicated, so
you won't have to worry about them that much. For lag, well, it's only 4 blocks at most; it

New Armor Enchantment :
Soul Steal | Max Lv. I
Every 3 hearts of damage you take while having the Endurance enchantment, the player/mob
who last attacked you will take 1/2 a hearts of damage. This is not an OP enchantment because
1/2 hearts is very little. Another feature of this enchantment is, when you run out of health, you
don't die until 1.5 seconds after so that you still have a slim chance of killing whoever you're
killing. Armor does not stack that ability. If you have full Soul Steal enchanted armor, you will still
only have 1.5 seconds of extra life. You will ALWAYS DIE after running out of health though. -Dingo:I don't really like it. perhaps you can make a leech enchantment for swords, taking 1/2 heart for every 1/10 hits. {???} Toughness | Max Lv. III
When a player hits you with any item with durability, more durability will be used. This can be a
nifty enchantment if the player has a low durability sword. It will break much faster which will
give you a window of opportunity to kill him/her. At level three, they will deal 1/2 heart less damage,
and their tool or whatever they are using will break even faster. This enchantment is not stackable. -Dingo:{???}
New Helmet Enchantment :
Clarity | Max Lv. I
The Clarity enchantment allows you to see further when underwater. Currently, when you look
underwater, there is a bit of fog which restricts your sight. With the Clarity enchantment, all
of the fog goes away. I am not sure if the Night Vision potion gets rid of the fog when underwater
because I have not yet gotten the 12w32a snapshot. If someone could kindly help me with this,
that would be great. If the Night Vision potion does further increase the sights when submerged,
I will remove this enchantment. -Dingo:Night Vision Potion dose just this, and it really dose help. {???}
Breath | Max Lv. III
The Breath enchantment makes it so that when you are suffocating the damage rate is slower.
The higher the level, the slower you take damage. This is a somewhat similar to the Respiration
enchantment. -Dingo:Seems exactly like Respiration {SCRAP IT}
Awareness | Max Lv. I
With the Awareness enchantment, You can hear mob and player footsteps from a far. Another
feature of this enchantment is creeper footsteps are louder, and when a player is sneaking, you
can hear their footsteps also. This is to prevent creeper sneak attacks and player sneak attacks.
Also, when mining, you can hear water and lava a bit better. -Dingo:Not much of an enchantment. seems more like a potion. {SCRAP IT}
New Boots Enchantment :
Trudge | Max Lv. III
When walking in the water with the Trudge enchantment, it's almost like walking on land. You
walk 1.25x faster than you would be walking when in water. Basically, this means that water
does not affect your speed as much. At level three, you walk as fast as you would on land. This
enchantment can be convenient if you're being chased in the water. -Dingo:I Like it! {KEEP IT}
Extreme Conditioning | Max Lv. I
You might be able to tell already, but the Extreme Conditioning enchantment is from Call of Duty,
so I will have to come up with some new names for this enchantment due to copyright issues
with Activision. Anyways, the Extreme Conditioning enchantment allows you to climb ladders/vines
faster and run up stairs. Also, soul sand does slow you anymore, and when running on ice, you
instantly run faster; No more of that wierd slow then fast movement. Currently, when you are
climbing stairs, you cannot run, so this can be useful for that. Again, the name is from Call of Duty,
so I will need to create a new name. I will also be checking the comments for any suggestions. -Dingo:No.... Just.... I.... {SCRAP....}

Uh, I know you addressed this, but sharpness and knockback... The new enchantments should add more variation.

What is the real point of this? I mean if you knocked a mob into the air, it would either just meaninglessly extend the fight, or fall back down on you.

Multiplayer only, kinda useless in single player. Maybe slow them a little or something.

This should be very rare because then everyone would almost always get a crit with level 4 and jump attacking.

This is a very cool post, with some good ideas. Many of these seem worthwhile. Some are over powered and others are not but it stillmanages to keep that nice feel to the game. I do have a suggestion though;

I just find the bullseye a bit op. all you need to do is aim where the target is and fire. You dont have to aim up and it would make bows to easy. Other than that these do see like some very good enchantments.

I wouldn't think it's OP. It only makes your aim better on the vertical axis. If you opponent is moving, it shouldn't be OP at all.
I definitely support your enchantment suggestions. None of them seem super OP and they seem like they would fit with the theme of minecraft. Again, great ideas.

I like the vison idea, but maybe just make it show *for all blocks* in a certain range. So when close to the surface, maybe 7 blocks away. And when you get near the bottom (0) it only works for 3 blocks away or something...

Not adding the Vision enchantment because, say you were mining at Y=12 and you used the potion. You would be able to see many diamonds. If you use an X-Ray mod, diamonds are actually very nearby you at level 12. Even if this wasn't an OP enchantment, it would fit better as a potion.
Most the enchantments are OP or don't really fit into minecraft I think. I said this on my own thread how tools shouldn't be giving potion effects. Also make sure these can be used in single player as mobs don't have hunger etc.
perhaps the potion chance on gunkshot and noxious should be 100%, else its worthless compared to fire aspect.
and excaust. well, i honestly dont like it. why: fun enchantment, but what if you get it in single-player. it is a pvp-only enchantment, so if you enchant you first diamond sword (on single player ofc), and then get this on it, well, have a nice time raging.
I upgraded it. I don't think poison should be 100% because with fire, you can just jump into water. With poison, you can't stop it except for milk which not many people have.

RESTRICTED: Helmets only. (Cannot be paired with other enchantments)
Required xp: 50+
-Vision allows a player to see nearby ores when obstructed by other blocks. Does not reveal block type. Does not show other blocks infront or around.
-Ex: Iron ore is 1-7 blocks to players right. Iron blocks then glow a faint red through blocks.
-Restricted to: Iron ore blocks, Gold ore blocks, Redstone ore blocks (on and off), Coal ore blocks, Lapis Luzli ore blocks, diamond ore blocks, emerald ore blocks (If I forgot common ores, please inform me.)
Sight:
-Iron=7 blocks away
-Gold=5 blocks away
-Redstone=4 blocks away
-Coal=10 blocks away
-Lapis=4 blocks
-Diamond=1 block
-Emerald=1 block
Sight does not reveal water or lava. If block is surronded in lava, it still shows.
