Programmers can leave comments in their code, messages that aren't actually part of the program but serve as notes for themselves or other programmers to read when working with the program.
Why not have something similar in Creative Mode? It could be very handy when building complex redstone machinery or complicated challenge maps.
For example, you might write "Lava Behind This Wall" or "Repeater connects to this block" or some other note useful for construction that you don't want players in survival or adventure mode to see. Here's what I suggest:
The Comment Sign
A comment sign behaves like a regular sign, but the sign and its message are both 100% invisible to people not in creative mode. Unlike regular signs a comment sign would just be plain white instead of appearing to be wood. Like bedrock comment signs would be invulnerable except to creative mode players, and would remain placed even if the block they're attached to is broken.
Comment signs would obviously not be craftable, and would only be accessible through the creative mode item screen and the give command.
Even though I'm not a map creator, I support this. It'll be a helpful way for the map creators to organize the way they do things and (hopefully) make their maps better.
Yeah, it would be great for map designers. Imagine being able to design a maze without getting lost yourself in it. Or being able to label what kind of monster spawn egg is in each dispenser, to avoid having to click to see what's inside.
It would also be useful on servers as a way of secure communication. Mods could leave notes for each other that they don't want just any player to see.
Also, it would share all the other properties of signs too, such as blocking water. So if you wanted to create an invisible water repelling forcefield, without visible slats of wood, you could do that with this. That's not the real reason for this, but it's something to keep in mind.

Thanks! I would leave notes for myself everywhere, even if the map isn't intended for anyone else.
Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
