First Idea for minecraft that I came up with, So here it goes. I believe that an official way to share Worlds, custom terrain, adventure maps, awesome creations, etc. would be an amazing addition to minecraft. This could be achieved by adding a new section on the title screen entitled 'Custom Worlds". Inside this section a screen would display a list of maps that could be downloaded and categorized by size, popularity, rating (which would require a rating system, stars maybe?) and upload date. This feature would allow a person to download custom maps and adventure maps right from minecraft itself. These files would be downloaded directly into the .minecraft saves folder. Then when a player goes to the select world menu the downloaded or downloading maps will be on the list. Maps currently being downloaded will have a progress bar on them. This idea could improve the play ability of custom maps greatly. Please post what you think.
Mm... I could see this idea go down VERY badly. What I mean is that someone could post a virus in their map files that could do God knows what. Not to be mean, I support the idea. But it's just that it's very risky. I may be wrong, though. lol.
I think this could work, but as shadowdragon said, it could go very wrong. All it take is for some idiot to post a virus in their files and bad stuff. However, IMO if you tweak this it could be much better. So instead of having an off having an official site to upload and download maps, just have people downloading them as normal. But in game, when creating a new world, you have the option that says "Custom World"and you can click on that and choose the file (zipped, or unzipped) and it will create the world with that map.

I didn't even think about someone uploading a virus. That definitely would be hard to control without an advanced way to scan maps and edvinoske, the map system would also have to implement a rating and commenting system to avoid that plus, who downloads something without pictures anyway?
