I think a golden bucket (see my post on them) would be a great way to get water there.
["bit.ly/noobtest"][/url]
The issue with a bucket idea, is it could be used over and over, making nehter easily flooding possible. I do not want nether flooding I just want it to be possible to get water there.
No.
it's illogical for water to survive a fiery and hellish dimension such as the Nether.
You think of it as that, but that does not mean it should be that way, some people think minecraft is a medeivle type game and should not have advantced stuff like the new redstone stuff, but others think it is more like being lost. I think the nether is hot, but not so hot there can not be any water at all.
Also you want to argue logic, minecraft oak trees drop apples, real life berock can bre broken with explosives, real lif obsidian is basically just glass (not any good for a bomb shelter), and the end is warm enough for water and lava despite the fact there is no sun.
Why are you wanting water in the nether? Are you planning a water park full of zombie pigmen tourists? Even if you were doing something similar,(lol btw) I suggest using a prettier place :D*tries coughing the word overworld*(still lol though)
Plus differences and limitations are what make it necessary to visit though. You're not complaining about The End having an end?(lol get it?)or the overworld have no enderdragon. Wouldn't that be boring? Having all the things u need at 1 place?

You can bring anything you want to the end and it will last. If the enderdragon were in the overworld it would literally destroy the world. If it were hard to get the water there it would make it so you could only make a small habital zone, it would allow you to make longer visits, but not live there permanantly unless you did a shiz ton of work to get a bunch of water.
Also without water, you can still grow crops and live there just as easily, it just takes a little bit more time for crop growth.
To the OP, there's a certain upper point of power where it doesn't matter what the cost of said power is, because nothing is expensive enough to be a fair trade for said power. And as was mentioned far too many times before in this topic, having water in the nether trivializes it, which puts it squarely in that upper point
I am not entirely sure if I like this, but I found a somewhat compromise that I think is fairly balanced.
Evaporating and Melting:
When an ice/snow block/tile is placed in the Nether, it will melt quickly, but not immediately. It may take a minute or two for it to melt. (Although many people like the ability to keep ice in the nether, it does not make sense.)
As for water, maybe it would be able to exist briefly. It would last for a bit less time than ice/snow would, and then it would evaporate just like normal.
It is a compromise because it allows water/ice, but only for a very brief period. I could live with this.
Also maybe the nether is not hell, maybe it is just another univers that did not spread out as much as the overworld so all the energy is less spread out making it hotter.
Go to the nether then press F3, look at the biome, it literaly says "hell" plus, if you go to the nether, walk a chunk (16 blocks) away, and build another portal, you travel miles away, so the nether is even larger than the overworld, but i like your end ("sky" biome) water to ice idea,
If you read many of the post, all they did is read the title and none of the arguemnts in the orgional post.
It would still be very useful if you ask me, it could be used to escape the nether without dying if your nether portal gets put out and you do not have a way to restart it on you.
It could be easily made so it can not be re-gathered, like perhaps it is formed in the overworld in some way, that can not occure in nether conditions.
That argument was against the argument that the game is realistic
The argument of logic for water in the nether is invalid still. Minecraft oak trees drop apples, real life obsidian is literally a type of glass, not a bomb shelter material, and real life bedrock can easyily be broken with tnt.
It could be made hard in any number of ways, perhaps crafting certian rare materials, or trading with villagers, a new rare resource, a potion, etc.

The end's biome is labeled sky and it is clearily not in the sky, just because the biome has that name does not make it that specifically. If you really look into what hell actually is, the nether is not even the same color as hell, let alone the same type of reality/phisics.
traveling 16 blocks in the nether is traveling 80 blocks in the overworld (look it up on the wiki), therefor, the nether is smaller.

I feel like if it could only be there for a short period, it diminishes most of its use, but maybe I am wrong, maybe this is the solution.

And as was mentioned far too many times before in this topic, having water in the nether trivializes it, which puts it squarely in that upper point
The water could be made hard enough to get there that it could only allow for very small areas of water, making most of the nether completely unchanged still.
The end's biome is labeled sky and it is clearily not in the sky, just because the biome has that name does not make it that specifically. If you really look into what hell actually is, the nether is not even the same color as hell, let alone the same type of reality/phisics.

how would you know what hell is like, as far as physics go, nobody has a clue what hell physics would be like, and as for color, people have no possible way of knowing it's color, people usualy just assume it is red
how would you know what hell is like, as far as physics go, nobody has a clue what hell physics would be like, and as for color, people have no possible way of knowing it's color, people usualy just assume it is red
Hell is made of fire and brimstone. Brimstone is another name for sulfur, which would make hell a very bright yellow color. Also there are not creatures in hell, just burning sould forever being eaten by worms.
Either way, the nether is not neccissarily hell and should not go by the rule of "there is not water in hell" and even if it did, and we could make portal to real hell, it would be possible to get water there if we tried hard enough, it would just take a ton of water to make a small pool.
If you read many of the post, all they did is read the title and none of the arguemnts in the orgional post.
It would still be very useful if you ask me, it could be used to escape the nether without dying if your nether portal gets put out and you do not have a way to restart it on you. How is water going to restart a nether portal.

The argument of logic for water in the nether is invalid still. Minecraft oak trees drop apples, real life obsidian is literally a type of glass, not a bomb shelter material, and real life bedrock can easyily be broken with tnt. Because minecraft has its own rules but stays true to the basics such as you have nothing supporting you then you fall down. Just because it's hard to get doesn't make it good
It could be made hard in any number of ways, perhaps crafting certian rare materials, or trading with villagers, a new rare resource, a potion, etc. Again as stated above if you add 10 steps to get this it would still be overpowered. if you added 50 steps then no one would craft this because it's pointless.
The end is broken skylands code i believe and that is why it is called "sky" and nether can also be used to refer to a hell.
I feel like if it could only be there for a short period, it diminishes most of its use, but maybe I am wrong, maybe this is the solution. No it is not.
The water could be made hard enough to get there that it could only allow for very small areas of water, making most of the nether completely unchanged still. You just don't get it do you.
While i am not much of a grammar nazi please try harder on your spelling cause it's pretty bad.
You think of it as that, but that does not mean it should be that way
Actually it does have to be that way, while Minecraft isn't a realistic game it still has ounces of logic.
some people think minecraft is a medeivle type game and should not have advantced stuff like the new redstone stuff,
Medieval* Advanced* learn to spell please.
on another note you are wrong, redstone is a form of primitive energy. And therefore would fit with Minecraft's primitive-like theme.
I think the nether is hot, but not so hot there can not be any water at all.
This is the part where I facepalmed Imagine the Nether being like the inside of a volcano, now imagine spilling a drop of water in a volcano what happens to it?
it evaporates. And since you "think" that is opinion. I'm not arguing over realism but what's the point of water in the Nether? you have the Overworld why not stock your water in there?
Also you want to argue logic
Yes.
minecraft oak trees drop apples
How else will people get apples? in dungeons? despite being a mediocre source of food?
real life berock can bre broken with explosives
How else can we block out the Void? who wants to fall into a deep dark pit? why would we need to destroy bedrock?
real lif obsidian is basically just glass (not any good for a bomb shelter)
But what do you get if lava and water combines? oh I know! Obsidian! and what do we use it for? (we can't use it for tools because Mojang said they will not be adding any more toolsets or weaponsets at the moment) We use it as a building material! and making it the second most durable block in the game is the only purpose it has besides being a crafting material for enchantment tables.
and the end is warm enough for water and lava despite the fact there is no sun.
Why would water and lava need sunlight?

It would be something to work towards, if it were easy it would be abused What's the point? And tell us how, so I can see what your idea is actually.

There's a limit on how realistic or unrealistic Minecraft gets.
Also why is this thread still alive? It was made in August.
well i didnt know you couldent bring water into the nether in the first place, so why not?, if you want to poor water all over the place then its your choice, and minecraft is about creating things, i think you should be able to create anything anywhere, support
I feel like if it could only be there for a short period, it diminishes most of its use, but maybe I am wrong, maybe this is the solution.
Well, the Nether is really hot, and some people would prefer for it all to evaporate. Others like the permanent usage idea, but I figured that this was idea was in neutral territory. I suppose it's all a matter of opinion anyway.

Guess you didn't see "Survival Mode" tacked on it.
