So i have been thinking about this new command block which we saw in the last snapshot... There are 3 ways to target players with it:
@p : Nearest player
@a: All players
@r : Random player
Wouldnt it be great for a PvP map to be able to make parties? Like: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow. so the command block can target like 5 players of the server with 20 players on by using like /give @red 46 64.
But i dont want parties just for the command block, but that block made me think of the idea. It could be used to make PvP between allies impossible. A private chat between the party, etc. This is a social game, so why not let people join eachother aswell?
I guess this has been suggested before... But i didnt find a thread about it, so i made my own
Plugins already seem to do it pretty easily. That's not to say, of course, that it wouldn't have a place in the vanilla code, but it seems like it would be rather low-priority.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm pretty sure a plugin could accomplish this quite easily.
Yes there is plugins for parties, but if someone would make a map, and me and some friends want to play this map, we would have to download bukkt add plugins and stuff to play this map. It would save so much time if it was implemented in the vanilla it would be so much easier. And some people dont know how plugins works, so these maps would be for only "advanced server hosters"
I for one dont know much about plugins, which is the biggest reason i would like to have this in the vanilla minecraft.
Sweet. This could mean giant stronghold warfare, like, say, a place the size of two large biomes? Like, the large biomes biomes. This could be awesome.

I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who like video games. I hate people who are hateful. I hate people that don't like spam. I hate people who like cake. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
I like this idea.
/set team <name of team>
/invite <name> <name of team>
or
/invite @r5 (as in 5 random people) <name of team>
But it would make a little more sense as some kind of plugin or mod. I think better plugin/mod support should be implemented like Mojang says it will be.

We are talking about command blocks, not commands? Heck no.

I was thinking more like when i open my inventory i see like 4 pickaxes, a red one, a blue one, a green one, and a yellow one. If no one on the server is in the red team one can just enter, but if the red team has a player, (the leader) he will be asked if this new player are allowed to join the party. We dont need a advanced party system, keep it simple!
And when a player is in say the red team, he will have a red pickaxe next to the name/above the name.
The only party commands we need is for the commandblock/op's
So they can target a whole party with one command, not multiple commands.
e.g: "/give @tr 46 64" now team red will each get 64 TNT's.
it would just be annoying for a OP to type
"/give TheTagg 46 64
/give Brinjal66 46 64
/give Jim_Puff 46 64
/give Mrdiamonds 46 64"
When he want to give 4 players 64 TNTs
Obviously no OP would ever give away 4 stacks of TNT... It was just an example
And since the new snapshot with Dyed leather armor, it would be amazing if i could make a team, team red that is, and equip my red leather armor and own people in the battlefield with my dashing new red leather armor!

It defines groups/Arrays much more simply and in a more physical way then just temporary cache data on stored commands. It works really well in my opinion.
