This is just an idea, and I'd like to know what you guys think about it. The idea is: The amount of exp. that you obtain correlates to the difficulty on which you are playing. I will now outline the pros and cons.
Pros:
1. Encourages people to challenge themselves to play on a higher difficulty (unless they already play on hard, which many of you probably do, I personally play on medium)
2. You could get more thrill by facing that group of mobs for a nice reward on hard, instead of turning away because they are tedious to kill
Cons:
1. The whole enchanting system was very recently changed to make it easier, it likely doesn't need more changes.
2. People will abuse it (like a lot of things in Minecraft) and turn their game to hard when they AFK at there exp farms.
3. This idea possibly makes playing on hard and hardcore a bit easier.
So my question to you guys is: do the pros of this idea out-weigh the cons?
The system would go something like this.
Peaceful: 15% less exp
Easy: 10% less exp
Medium: Neutral amount
Hard: 5% more exp
Hardcore: 10% more exp
I would also appreciate it if you let me know what you think about the percentages. They're just the numbers I thought of off the top of my head.
Also, please only be constructive. I don't think this is a bad idea, if you do, please say so politely.
Peaceful: No EXP. Get on a higher difficulty!
Easy: 50% less EXP.
Normal: 20% less EXP.
Hard: Normal amount.
Hardcore: I'm not sure about this. Either normal, 20% more, or 25% less (because it's hardcore and it's supposed to be hard)

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

The amounts that you give are extreme. I think they would disrupt the balance of the game.
So, when killing a bunch of wolves on peaceful mode only with bare hands, you get nothing. Nihilism. Thin air.
It's because you're playing on pansy-ass mode. You shouldn't be rewarded for killing the easiest mobs (wolves die from one hit from an iron sword, last time I checked) while recovering all your health in mere seconds.
And on 'easy' (medium-hard) mode, you get, like, one experience orb from almost any mob (maybe even zero sometimes?), and only 5 orbs from a blaze.
You're on EASY mode. It's really, REALLY easy (armor says hi). You should be playing on a higher difficulty instead of one where you only starve to half health and you take next to no damage.
And on 'normal' (hard) mode, you get less than normal, not very good.
Have you ever played a game that rewarded you more when you played on a higher difficulty? I sure have. While this may not seem like much, we get tons of EXP as of late so the "normal" amount of EXP should be bumped down. If you want to enchant a lot of stuff, go play on hard.
And once reaching 'hard' (very hard) mode, you get normal amounts of experience.
Yes, because we get a lot of EXP now. Hard isn't terribly hard; just wear armor and you're fine. Sure, mobs can kill you easier (read: slightly more often) but it's a reward for playing on the hardest of the non-hardcore difficulties.
And when you choose 'hardcore' (as hard as crushing a boulder of platinum with bare hands in real life) mode, you might get LESS than hard mode?
It's HARDCORE mode. It's supposed to be a brutally unforgiving challenge. While it may not live up to it's name, you should get less EXP so that it becomes hard to survive. At this level of difficulty, there are no rewards. (By the way, platinum is a soft metal.)
Seriously?! Oh, and what makes everything so hard... Yeah, I really hate that hunger bar, I think implenting it was a bad idea. You lose points quickly if you want to face monsters, getting food can be challenging... Gaaaaah, I can hardly even imagine how much better the game would be with everything it has now except that hunger bar...
I have no idea if you're sarcastic, serious, or raging at me at this point. Either way, it has nothing to do with the rest of the topic.

Furries are cool.
Seems like too much to me. Remember that we already get a lot of EXP.

While some of the values may need a buff, I still think that the EXP we earn now should be bumped up to hard mode.
