Basically, allowing the stacking of different types of wooden slabs would make allow more possibilities and I believe that it would be a good addition. Some examples are transitioning colors from an inside ceiling to the floor of the next level. Like if you wanted your ceiling to be oak colored, and the floor of the second level to be spruce colored, you could simply use a oak slab with a spruce slab on top, saving yourself from stacking whole blocks and making your house look abnormally tall by 1 block. That is just one example I suppose, but I'm sure all you guys could think of some way it would help.
One way to do it would be a bunch of crafting recipes, one slab on the bottom, one on the top would make a new block (which would look like the two slabs on top of eachother). As far as I know, even a halfslab is treated as a whole block, so despite there being 9 different half slabs (72 recipes), that might be the easier way to go about it. We can halve the number of recipes by changing the placement of the slab-combo-block, so it would be somewhat like stairs. The angle you place it at will determine which slab is on the bottom. The only downside to this method is that for every N'th slab introduced, we would need to create N more recipes, and I'd really love to see some new slabs.
