We have bedrock. The indestructible block. However, none of the crafting recipes use bedrock. Bedrock is sometimes called Adminium. The new recipes would be perfect for server ops/admins
Wood/Leather/Gold = Bad tier Stone = Decent tier Iron = Good tier Diamond = Epic tier Bedrock = Admin tier
Bedrock can't be obtained in Survival.
So I'm suggesting 3 new uses: Bedrock Pistons, Tools and Armor.
Bedrock Piston: Crafted with bedrock in place of cobblestone. Bedrock piston, unlike regular pistons, can push obsidian and bedrock. Sticky Bedrock Piston can be used with Bedrock Piston and Slimeball. Great for bedrock doors.
Bedrock tools: Pickaxe, shovel, axe, hoe and sword. They're more powerful than diamonds. Bedrock sword will do 10 damage. (5 hearts). Bedrock pickaxe mines twice as fast as diamond. Can mine obsidian in 5 seconds. Bedrock axe can break wood in 0.5 seconds. Bedrock shovel breaks dirt, sand and gravel instantly. Bedrock hoe never breaks. In fact, bedrock tools never breaks.
Bedrock armor: Reduces damage by 88%. (11 armor points). Grants invincibility to lava. Never breaks. With this, you're virtually invincible.
Because they are overpowered, they have same effectiveness as diamond in PvP. (Bedrock sword will do 7 damage in PvP)
Bedrock blocks and bedrock pistons are ops only. You can't break bedrock in Survival. You can, however, in Creative. Bedrock tools and armor aren't ops-only, it's just extremely rare.
Blacksmith Villagers will have a tiny chance of offering bedrock tools and armor, but requires a lot of Emeralds. (24-32 Emeralds)
Bedrock is only obtainable in creative, so you don't craft with it. It also means the tools and armor are useless, with the exception of swords, only if they one hit kill everything. Obsidian and bedrock are intentionally unmovable.
No. Crafting recipes are pointless if bedrock is unobtainable in survival. If this is for ops only the op could just give himself/herself the armor, tools or pistons. Plus obsidian and bedrock are most definitely never going to be able to be pushed by pistons.
Finally, why mention PvP if all PvP servers are survival, where these tools are unobtainable?

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
No I will not +1 you unless you say something worth +1ing. Respect is earned, not given.
I can see where the idea for this suggestion came up from, but I personally think it should be left as a mod. It sounds fun, but would be impractical, because logically, the purpose for something like this runs in a loop.
For example, to get a Adminium pickaxe you would have to use server commands or cheats in SMP or SSP respectively to spawn bedrock in the first place, since bedrock can not be mined regularly and the only way to obtain it is with server codes or other ways of inventory editing.
If you used those cheats to spawn the Adminium pickaxe, you could just as well use them to break blocks instantly, give yourself whatever you wish to mine, and spawn an unlimited amount of diamond pickaxes.
However, you want a pickaxe that is better than the top tier to use while back in survival mode that can only be obtained by someone cheating or using server commands.
This is the premise for a mod.
This concept applies to all Adminium weapons, armor, and tools. An interesting point about this however would be for role-playing servers, so admins would still be more powerful than other plays for administrative purposes yet be able to stay in character. And example would be like some sort of guard force, or an independent Admin nation that has a mostly "non-interference" policy but intervenes in character when server policies warrant.
This again however, is the premise for a modification.
Another point is the pistons. While these would allow for admins to make unobtainable to any non-admin players without server modifications and would just be able to make fancy obsidian/bedrock doors, the first part is invalid because the door would still need to be open with redstone, and thus anyone would be able to control the door. Admins would still have to break it if they wanted to be the only ones that could use it, and if they did that, why would they need a piston?
I don't support this idea in vanilla MineCraft because it has impractical use but it may fair well in the Mod Ideas forum.
If they're for OPs only, then why would blacksmith villagers offer to sell them?
The idea is alright, but it definitely doesn't belong in vanilla Minecraft. I do like the piston idea, though. That'd be the most useful part of bedrock devices and tools.
I thnk th idea is o.k.,not great, but it has a major flaw. The ability of the piston to push bedrock. Obsidian would be nice, I have wanted a moving obsidian door for ages, but the bedrock is just plain dangerous. Griefers would spawn these in and move/remove all the bedrock at the bottom of the world, so everyone would fall into the void. Also, would the pistons THEMSELVES be breakable? Because if not, people would get a ton of emeralds to buy them and fill up other peoples houses.
. Still, I support. Just think you need to consider the griefing possibilities.
Bedrock is there to prevent the derping miner from falling into the void. In creative mode, you are already invincible, and in survival mode, the bedrock is invincible.
Actually, bedrock block and piston CAN'T be bought from villagers. Just tools and armor. Only bedrock pistons can push and pull bedrock and obsidian. Regular pistons can't do that.
Besides, bedrock tools and armor would be extremely rare. Only 1 in 400 chance of a blacksmith villager offering you one. They would cost a lot of emeralds though and it may take 2 full stacks of emeralds for a full set of bedrock armor. And other 2 or 3 stacks for all 5 of the bedrock tools. It would take long time, like weeks and months, to get enough emeralds for them. Of course, you could work for the villagers to earn emeralds. The hardest part is finding a villager who will offer you bedrock tools and armor.

What do you think?
If anyone wants to port/remake this, feel free to do that! Or don't. It's up to you, really.

Curse PremiumLet's just say an op just changed their game mode to Survival.
And if an op just give some blocks of bedrock to players who are in survival.
Let's try constructive criticism.
