I like multiplayer, how you can talk to each other. But I have grown EXTREMELY annoyed of people saying and building the "P" Word. So I think we should use a function to blurt out certain words! You can turn spam filter on/off. If someone says a message with common bad words, it will not display the message, or you can set it to tell you when someone says something innapropriate. The bad words written in minecraft code, should be in morse code and convert it to the bad words, just in case someone tries to search through the minecraft files.
I hate to just turn off chat, because then I can't hear any of the things people say that aren't bad! If this isn't a good idea, then here's another possibility: On that server, it doesn't allow me to ignore certain people, which is just irritating. I think in the next version of minecraft the ignore command is built into minecraft code and ignores that person.
If this is added, people are just going to make more, even worse spam:
P3n1s
F uck
Sh1t
and so on and so forth.
So, while spam filters are good ideas in theory, they don't really do anything to stop spam and bad words in practice.
If someone is spamming, report them to the admin of the server or an OP, they will ban them accordingly. If someone uses a bad word in a normal sentence:
Stupid ****ing creepers
Check with the admin/OP to see if bad words are allowed; if they are, either leave or deal with it, because it's going to work like that in real life.

Of course they will. They're PEOPLE. That's why I suggested we allow the ignore command for everyone

Except then people can ignore OPs, either pissing them off and/or sending a lot of people complaining about "unfair admin banning"
