i don't care if anyone has done this before, it sounds like a good idea.
anyways, the music discs aren't that expensive. they only need a dye (for the label) and 8 peices of coal. would make a cyan labeled disc. you cannot listen to it, as it has nothing on it. so you have to right click with the disc in your hand and a box with two options will come up.
1. make your own
2. import a track (mp3, ogg, flac, wav, etc)
if you click make your own, you can use the sequencer to make your own track.
if you click import, you can load a track from your computer. (let's say i load light year - sex education.mp3)
so it will convert the file to ogg, and once that's done, you can name your record! i will name it Light Year - Sex Education (because that's the track.)
or, if you use the sequencer, i can name mine Tails_Doll - Moodscapes and Burritos.
so let's say you want to have a collection of your own records? make a record box! makes a record box. you must have records in sleeves to put them in the box. a record box would look kind of like a boat but it has a flat bottom and the sides would be a bit taller. you can right click on the record box and put your records in sleeves in that box. the maximum amount of records you can fit in is 10.
now, to make a sleeve, you just need paper. makes a sleeve. you can craft a record in a sleeve, and all you need is the sleeve and the record in any spot on the table. so yeah, just a thought. and if some of this doesn't work for minecraft and i don't realize it, please don't ****ing scream about it. just say "meh you can change this up since it won't work in mc :/" or something like that. but please don't **** yourself over it.
Seems like a relatively good idea. How would the "import a track" feature work for other people in SMP?
good question, i'm not so sure but i'm guessing it would work the same in csp or ssp, except for that when the record is given to someone else, the file is shared too. kind of like downloading a server's texture pack.
