This Is a compilation of all my new biome ideas. First up,
Pine
As an American, I know that The trees in the Taiga biome are
tiny compared to real life pines, redwoods, and spruce. So I
wanna see a flat biome, filled with nothing but trees that would
be similar to jungle trees, maybe 15- 20 blocks tall, but they would be
thinner and be made of spruce wood and pine leaves.
Deadlands
I'm thinking of a biome that would a sort of dead biome. It would have a certain kind of dirt, that is darker than normal dirt, and would not be able to grow anything, or grow grass. However, the dirt would make nether wart grow faster. The sky would also change to a dreary gray when you enter the biome, like the Dokucraft texture pack when you enter a jungle or swamp. There would be trees as well. They would look like the larger oak trees, without leaves. They would also be darker than normal wood, and drop coal around 15% of the time. Then main attraction of this biome, however, is that it would mean a stronghold is beneath it, because I find them to be waay too rare.
Canyon
I find ravines to be too tiny. So let's have some canyons. Now, since canyons traditionally have reddish stone, and Minecraft stone isn't red we'll need to change that. Which is why I suggest several new types of stone, that occur in different biomes. In places like canyons and pine forests, stone'd have a reddish tint. In jungles, it could be a little lighter, and so on, I'll let you guys think of the other colors. But back to canyons. They would be enormous, becoming barriers between biomes (not all biomes mind you, the edge of a biome is simply where they would occur. They would NOT have ANY ores showing in them, nor would they reveal cave systems, lava flows, or anything else, save the occasional tiny one-block wide stream running through them.
Caves
Now don't get me wrong, I love caves. They're my favorite part of Minecraft. BUT they're not their own biome. Which is why when you enter caves or ravines it should show up on the debug menu when you hit F3. Also, I've been in a real cave before, and Minecraft caves are not similar at all. For one, caves are usually long winding claustrophobia-inducing paths, with "rooms" inbetween, varying in size. So that's what should be added. The rooms could be 6 blocks around to 30 blocks around, and would be of varying shapes. In other places, instead of paths there'd be "cracks", which would be like smaller ravines, but they could also be horizontal or diagonal. Also, underwater lakes are hardly satisfactory. They need to be large, sometimes spanning 80% of the cave floor. And, since I've studied this crap, I know that underwater lakes are formed by stalactites, which hang from the ceiling and drip water, eroding the rock. This large eroded pit then fills up with water from the stalactites, creating underwater lakes. So stalactite could vary in size, from 1 block to 5 blocks large. I've seen some pretty big ones in my time.
Mountains
Yes, mountains. Extreme Hills is my second favorite biome, and it's sometimes immensely disappointing. In my first Minecraft world, back in 1.5, I discovered an island (I think it was an island) With the largest fricking mountain you'd ever seen. It took me a full day to get to the top, and once I found the top, I discovered the top of the trees on the mountain actually touched the world barrier! Where did those gigantic mountains go, huh? Which is why I want mountain biomes. They'd occur in the same way canyons would, and they could encircle the whole biome, on rare occasions. They'd be made of stone, and could reach from 10 blocks to 250 block high, and would span 20 to 400 blocks wide. MAJESTIC TO THE MAX. They could also support tiny little terraces on them, where a few tree would grow, maybe a stream. Streams would of course be indented so they wouldn't waterlog the whole thing, and would run all the way down the mountain into a lake. Also, to add more aesthetic-ness-ish stuff, anything above the height level of 200 would be covered in snow.
Tundra
Now, we already have tundra in Minecraft, but it's FRICKING UGLY, because all that ugly grass just... ugh. Which is why I suggest a snowy grass, that would occur when snow and grass conflict. Same goes for flowers. But that's not for the tundra, that's just snowy plains. For tundra, we'd have a naturally occuring snow block be placed on top of grass.

PROUD USER OF THE STEVE SKIN
Ooh, nice name.
Minecraft cannons have water at the bottom?
Canyons* and yeah, I said they'd have tiny little streams at the bottom.
