When I saw that the new "command block" could acually use consol commands I was overjoyed. This is so amazing! Then I began thinking of possibilites like cutscenes. To include this and many other possiblies, I will suggest a few more consol commands to mojang.
/pulse (coordinate): This commands will pulse redstone at the given location. This opens up many possiblies, mainly wireless redstone. Using this you could literally pulse any redstone wire from within any other loaded chunk. You could also use this with things that require a redstone pulse to activate.
/spawn (entity id) (coordinate): This command would be designed to work just like a spawner, able to spawn modified mobs as well as normal ones. This also works with primmed TNT, and other entities making them able to be used in cutsceens.
/say (name) (message): This message is designed to be npc text. Name is the name the consol will say said the text. In other words, typing "/say "Professor Grizwald" "HEEEELLLLOO" will display a message like this "<Professor Grizwald> HEEEELLLLOO"
/freeze (player): This command will do as it says and freeze players in spot. This is purely for cutscenes, as it would freeze there camera movement as well.
/look (player) (coordinate): This command forces a player to look in a certain direction. The coordinate would be the x,y,z they would look at. This command over-rides the freeze command.
With these commands you can pull off so much. If this were added, cutscenes would be possible in adventure maps. With the entity spawner command, you could do a lot of things, like causing TNT to spawn and clear the way, having mobs in an epic battle be damaged by a barrage of arrows from the castle, and have gravel fall from the sky caving in the tunnel behind you. With the freeze, and look commands, you can control where players are focus and make cutscenes that look amazing. With the pulse command, you can create wireless redstone which will declutter your adventure map's redstone. And of course, modifing the say command would add a better role-playing element to maps. Its far better than having to go into a seperate window to read notes, that for sure!
It's not a good idea to double post, especially when it bumps a thread almost a month old.
I would like to see more console commands, but some of these just wouldn't fit with minecraft, or could simply allow abusive admins to puppet other players.
IMO, an admin with the potential to abuse a command isn't a good reason to discount something. This is because, unlike as an admin of a server, you have the choice to gtfo of that server whenever you please. Who cares about a server with an admin like that? You won't ever see him or members of that server again.
With the new command block, this could allow for well thought out cut scenes as the OP said. I don't understand how this wouldn't fit. (I'm sure the first two are of no controversy and should be added)

By replying, you bumbed my thread too.
So you are saying that abusive admins can't abuse the tp command? Also, if admins abuse you on a server, pick a better server. I think that overall the benifits outweigh the drawbacks.
