I had an idea for Minecraft that they should add a new world called the Aether! These are just ideas but please let me know if you like it and if you have any suggestions for it please comment!
These are the Aether's porperties:
The portal to get there I think should be made out of soul sand. Why? Because a.) I just think that the glow stone look would just look awkward. Especially at night when there is darkness and you just look at this big bright rectangle. And b.) The souls in the soul sand would represent all the souls that accidentally got send to the Nether when they were supposed to get send to the Aether. The actual portal texture would look like the End portal texture, (a black surrounding with stars around, but in the shape of the Nether portal.
Inside this world, there would be several large islands. The top would be made of a certain block called Aether Grass. It would be like a dirt block except the grass would be a bit lighter than regular grass and instead of dirt it would have something called Aether Soil. When you mine Aether grass with a shovel or your hands you get just plain Aether soil without the grass texture. Aether Soil would kind of look like a mix of snow and End stone. You could obtain Ather grass fully by using a pickaxe with a silk touch enchantment. Under that would just be stone. There are no minerals in the Aether except one, called Aether ore. It can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe or higher. (Obsidian pickaxe, my other idea.) When you smelt it it would become an Aether Gem. This gem would be the third rarest item in the game, next to the Feather of Truth and the dragon egg. It would act just as any other gem, you could craft it into an Aether Gem block, that can be placable and used for compact storage of Aether gems. It could not be used to craft tools, however, it CAN be used to craft armor, which when worn, is two times as strong as diamond armor and makes you invincible from fire damage. The Gem itself would look like glass and diamond combined except without the lines in the glass.
Other than stone, Aether grass, Aether soil, and Aether Ore, no other blocks can be found. There are cave systems though, and in those cave systems you could have the rare chance of finding an Aether Dungeon. Only one of these appears in each Aether world. This dungeon would be 12x12 in size, and have one chest and a Judgement Cube (its a mob, getting to that later,) After you defeat the Judgement Cube, you can get the earning in the chest. This chest has a chance of having the following: gold ingots, diamond, Aether gems, iron ingots, gunpowder, emeralds, melon slices, and cake. And it automatically will have a new item inside, the Feather of Truth. This would look like a regular feather with an enchanted look. This item is placable and when placed will set all hostile mobs in a 5 block radius on fire. Endermen can not pick up this item.
There will be a few mobs in the Aether. The first one is called a Bloxor. These mobs give off as much light as glowstone, and they will become hostile if provoked, however, unlike zombie pig men and wolves, other Bloxors around them will not become hostile as well, of course unless also provoked. They are golden creatures that have the same shape as a zombies and glowing red eyes. They drop golden nuggets when they die. Another is the Aether dragon. They are non-hostile creatures, believe it or not. They are actually indestructible. They protect the Aether from evil creatures. They have the same shape as the Enderdragon and are pure white with blue eyes and gold spikes on their back. The tip of their tail is also gold. The last mob is the Judgement Cube. This mob only appears in the Aether Dungeon. It is the size and shape of a medium slime and becomes hostile when the player enters the dungeon. It is a navy colored cube with one human-like eye in the center of its face. Unlike slimes, it levitates instead of hopping and gives of 1and a half hearts of damage per hit. It has 15 hearts of health. When it dies its drops 1-3 Aether gems and gives you access to the chest in the back of the dungeon.
One last feature of the Aether is the sky texture would look slightly darker than regular daytime sky and have stars like night time. However, there is never a day/night cycle. It is always the same.
And that's about it! Please support, and I would love to hear your ideas!
