The Smoke Emitter; For fancy traps or whatever you want to do with it.
Have you ever wanted a fancy chimney emitting smoke, a super fancy healing bathtub or maybe even a poisonous gas chamber of certain doom, except that poison doesn´t kill you or any mobs, but let´s just ignore that for now. And by the way you might not even cared for any of the things listed above, but really only I don´t care to much. Which you should because it´s awesome. But back to topic; well if you wanted some of the stuff then may just be the perfect suggestion for you! Unless you think that I got all the properties wrong of course. Because with this extremily complex and ingenious piece of machinery you will be able to produce any type of smoke of your own personal choice.
A smoke emitter is a block which emits smoke in a 3x3 square one block around above itself, when powered by redstone. Which by making the area which the block can emit smoke smaller will concentrate the smoke on all blocks where it can emit. So theoretically if the smoke emitter only has one plausible location to spawn the smoke will become nine times as dense, thus making the smoke effects last nine times as long after leaving the smoke than it would have done if spread out on nine blocks.
The smoke itself is completely harmless except possibly blocking a small portion of your sight because of all the particles. But the real fun of this block comes when you right click on it, open it´s GUI, and then put a potion of your choice in it. Because it will then start emitting smoke when activated by redstone slowly kiling the sheep, or other players so unfortunate to be standing in the range of the smoke emitting device. For a total of two minutes the smoke will flow out of it, unleashing pain and suffering on your enemies, possibly making you have a great amount of fun, if you used poison potions that is. You could also use the boring and lame potions of healing though, unleashing the evil corrupted power of love and healing.
As you can see I decided to make the GUI quite simple, but it´s still a lot better than nothing. If it wasn´t obvious you put the potion in the bottom and it will fill the bubble meter thingy, which will slowly decrease as it is turned on.
For people who are unable to read texts of a medium length or longer; here is a TL;DR: The smoke emitter is a block which by powered by a redstone signal emits smoke. By putting a potion in the emitter the smoke turns into smoke of the same type as the potion making it possibly useful for traps and mobgrinders.
Feel free to come up with crafting recipes, alternate properties, stuff that you just felt was missing from the thread in general, any feedback or just clicking the +1 button. All of which I would highly appreciate. I´m also going to try to make a GUI for the suggestion. But don´t make this stop you from making one yourself if you want to.
hmmmmm i dont know, you need more comments before i will put a comment on this idea, though it sounds a bit useless apart decoration
Interesting how you said you wouldn´t post yet, but did so anyway, there´s a clear contradiction here! But anyway, it would also be useful for making a bigger variety in the different types of traps you make, but I originally only thought of it as an aestethic block, but I really wanted it to have some more or less practical uses as well, so though I just went for a trip outside the box for a while and fancified it quite a bit.
I also added a simple GUI of something along of the lines of what I imagined it as.
If you have to put a potion in it, I think it should confer the effects of the potion to the smoke it emits. That might make an interesting feature for adventure maps, at least.
