To start, I tried searching for if anyone had these ideas, but couldn't find anything quite like what I have in mind, but please bear with me if you see a resemblance to suggestions others have posted.
I hope I don't touch on anything in particular that's repeated too often.
Secondly, I know nothing about coding/programming. So I have no idea how difficult it would be for these things to implement if possible.
First suggestion is to implement dynamic fog weather without compromising the performance of Minecraft on some computers.
For instance, my desktop is powerful enough to run Minecraft with the render distance set to Far; however, my laptop, has the render distance set to normal.
Biomes and weather would affect the render distance, but never increase it beyond what you have it set to in the video settings so that your machine can still run Minecraft with no loss of performance if need be.
How the fog distance would be affected is as follows:
Rain and snow reduce render distance; snow more than rain.
Dry and arid biomes would have the greatest render distance, up to whatever level you have it set to.
Desert would perpetually have the greatest render distance(s) and Jungle; the smallest.
Wet and humid climates have shorter render distances.
Render distance would also change randomly depending on what biome you're in. eg taiga could be foggier some days and clearer other days, with or without snowfall.
Second suggestion concerns biome adjacency. Not a huge deal though.
Certain biomes could never exist directly next to each other, but would need one or two more biomes to act as a buffer.
An example would be Taiga right next to Desert. Or Jungle right next to Desert.
So instead of having
Jungle > Desert,
you could have
Jungle > Plains > Desert, or
Jungle > Forest > Plains >Desert
Other examples:
Jungle > Swamp > Ocean
Mountains > Hills > Plains
Taiga > Tundra > Plains
etc, etc, etc.
"Buffer Biomes" could add a little bit more realism without destroying core gameplay.
Third suggestion is very trivial, so feel free to skip this one.
Snow occurs on natural blocks above a certain altitude.
This is mostly to give large/tall mountains snowy peaks. That is all.
I like these ideas, especially the "buffer biomes" idea. I've thought that would be a great thing to have for a while now. And the snow idea is good too, but i think (in regards to the weather) vision already decreases when raining/snowing. I'm not sure these things will ever be implemented to vanilla but it does seem likely that a mod would add something like this. If I ever learn coding..... maybe....

I hope I don't get flamed too much.
