As you are all very well aware, some of the mechanics behind Redstone are relatively tedious, and can cause a relatively simple task to become complicated, and expensive. (i.e. building a redstone path that travels vertically, obviously this can be accomplished with the instant method of glowstone, stairs, or redstone torch staggering)
I'm suggesting a new type of craftable block, "conduits" - for example, a cobblestone or stone conduit would be created by placing 3 cobblestone vertically, 3 redstone vertically and then 3 more cobblestone vertically in the crafting table interface. The conduit should behave similarly to pistons in that the conduit will face the player when constructed. Any solid construction block should be able to be turned into a conduit - wood conduit, cobblestone conduit, sandstone conduit, etc.
The conduits would look like a normal block of their type, except on two faces there would be a redstone "opening" or "port", effectively the blocks would conduct redstone just like redstone does, except without some of the limitations redstone comes with, for example, if you place redstone you cannot build on top of it, it has to remain unobstructed, if you were to replace that redstone with a conduit, now you can build on top of the conduit and keep your wiring even more hidden. Furthermore, if you faced upwards or downwards while placing the block the redstone core of the block would face vertically, allowing you to conduct redstone directly upwards.
I think this would expand the amount of creativity with redstone even further than is already possible, allowing players to create more compact and hidden redstone machines.
Can you tell me were i or how to make them im fairly new to this buildcraft [Minecrack] its one of the few recipies i havent been able to found
the other one is what quartz crystals for.
This was a suggestion, its not actually in the game.
But I can answer your quartz question, the crystals can be used in several new recipes coming in 1.5, including the Daylight Sensor, and Capacitor. They can also be turned into blocks that look kinda like marble.
As for the suggestion, I like it, it be handy to have a thin redstone line that can run up a wall relatively unnoticed, I'd guess these would be similar to the cables from the Red Power Mod?

Good point, Instead of answering here, I have appended their function to the end of the main post.
