I think the breeding systems should be changed just a little bit
Animals:
When bred, pigs should give birth to 1-2 piglets instead of always just 1. This would make it a little more realistic and with the improvements to pig drops, this would be very useful.
Chickens should have 1-3 chicks. I originally was going to suggest that they just lay eggs, but that would get annoying.
Villagers:
Villagers should have about a 20% chance to have two children instead of one.
I never have trouble producing a large number of animals, but I tend to seek out villages and use their croplands intensively, so wheat is plentiful for me.
That said, I think these are good suggestions for the most part. I usually have far less pork than I do beef, as a byproduct of the leather I'm producing, and since pigs are only good for food (and riding off cliffs, apparently), it kind of makes sense to optimize them for it by making them more fecund.
Chickens, by the way, already are. They lay eggs AND you can breed them with wheat. I've even on a couple of occasions had as many as four chicks emerge from a single egg.

I think it would be nice if you can craft something that let animals breed on their own, but like a haystack that you can put in the pen with the animals and they will auto-eat the hay stack and after being eaten so many times you have to replace it because it is fully consumed. (I hate growing wheat and planting and farming, but with an idea like this id have to do it less I wouldn't mind as much)

Curse PremiumI said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Irony in the first degree.
This could very easily cause problems and make animals much more common. They are meant to be bred by the player to balance out their rarity.
