Forests biomes right now aren’t actually forests. They are grasslands with an uncharacteristically high frequency of trees. So, I think that a Dense Forest biome should be added. Dense forests, are, well, forests. There are few spaces open to sky, and the Forest Tree leaves are opaque and count as blocks. So, mobs will spawn even in the day, making this place very dangerous. The forest trees will be structured similar to the Twilight Forest mod, but even more densely packed. But even more importantly, only hostile mobs spawn, and they spawn a lot!
Skeletons will spawn at 110% of normal.
Zombies will spawn at 150% of normal.
Creepers will spawn at 120% of normal.
Spiders will spawn at 100% of normal.
Endermen will spawn at 110% of normal.
Chances of Spider Jockeys spawning will be tripled.
Chances of Nether Mobs spawning around portals will be quadrupled.
However, maximum drop amount will also be increased by 2, and rare drops will occur 10% more.
Also, forest trees don’t burn very well, so it’s impossible to burn the forest and watch the undead fry. Mob farms will obviously be very effective here, but establishing a base will be quite difficult. The point of all this is to provide some fun combat after you’ve got diamond tools and can kill everything in a few strikes.
I like the idea of having a biome in Vanilla with Twilight Forest level tree density but I think increasing spawn rates and drop rates is unnessesary. The 'only hostiles' thing is also kinda crazy. What's neat about Twilight Forest is all the wildlife. I can't say I support this.

Under no circumstances do I want villagers building ugly little houses in my world. That's my job.
