Redstone is quite useful in minecraft, but to make things easier, here are some ideas for redstone!
Redstone Ingots - 3 redstones in a line in the crafting table, can be placed on walls to carry the current up!
Redstone Blocks - 9 redstone in the crafting table, powers everything around it!
Radiator Levers - Transmits power to every block less than 3 squares from it!
Its a good idea, but I don't think there will be too many additions to redstone. Unless I am wrong, which would be cool, because redstone is awesome.
They're already adding trip wire in 1.3, which is the entity equivalent of a BUD. But the majority of Redstone ideas are rightfully focused on simplifying a basic function that requires a complex or space inefficient redstone circuit behind it. For example.... flip flops and memory cells require around 12 blocks of space to simulate the same function that the Lever does... except RS triggered instead of manual. Or having to build a stair case of blocks to move a redstone circuit vertically. Or having to run parallel wires with air blocks as insulation, or they end up linking together.
There is still a lot of room for new functions, but we can still greatly benefit from better components for existing functions.
Redstone blocks could possibly be the vertical redstone transmission of choice. They could function pretty much like dot dust, but also going up and down.
Crafting? 5 redstone and 4 iron like TNT.

I hope you consider my ideas!
