When we travel or explore the dungeon with pets, it's highly possible that the pet will run into lava and get killed.
I had tested few experiment that the pets is smart enough finding safe path and follow their master. and if there have no safe path, it will stay in place until we get far enough, yet they will tele to us. The experiment just like picture below:
try create a creator mode, spawn a wolf, tamed it and make them sit , pouring a bucket of lava onto a surface.
use flying mode, set the wolf stand, and fly accross the lava.
then you will know what i mean.
That's a big if. It's assuming that a lava spout will magically appear in front of you. Naturally it doesn't work like that, a lava source isn't going to magically appear in your room in front of your wolf. Pathfinding could be improve slightly, but it would have to be like the zombies; navigating around a cliff and obstacles.

The problem is, the path finding algorithm (or name as set navigation in the minecraft program) have few flaw that miss judged the lava area.

as the picture show, mobs will run into the edge of the lava and get kill
can this kind of problem fixed? I'm sure that will help the mobs/pets survive without dying stupidity.
