Now what? you have all these cocoa plants on these trees. so many cocoa beans in your chests. how many do you ha..--? what? did you say you have 19 stacks? woah... thats alot.right there. Could you eat them? no. could you use them to craft something? yes..? you can make cookies?? 2 wheat and 1 cocoa bean. wow that put a HUGE dent in your chest's inventory... what if you could use 9 cocoa beans to make something? and then use that something and some other ingredients to make something thats BETTER! well i have an idea. how about chocolate?? yes chocolate. use 9 cocoa beans to make 2 chocolate in turn using 6 chocalate, 2 sugar, 1 milk bukket. makes 1 creep bar and each do diffrent things with hunger. So Yes, tthe aztecs made it, and now you can in minecraft! well... at least if jen allows us.
A chocolate bar would be nice I suppose. The best thing i can see it used for is chocolate cake.
However cocoa beans taking up too much space is probably a minor issue in the latest snapshot, other things should be focussed on before this.
i totally agree with you especially the signs turning blank when re-entering a world, but chocolate could be useful, and it still holds the minecraft feel
But instead of just another food jeb added, maybe it can have more meaning.
Two cocoa beans make 3 choco nuggets.
Six choco nuggets make 1 chocolate bar.
You can apply paper to the chocolate bar in the crafting table to make wrapped chocolate.
If you put wrapped chocolate and dye in the crafting table, it will create colored wrapped chocolate, and upon crafting, a gui text box will come up and it will tell you to enter a name for your chocolate bar.
Once you name it, when you hover over it, the name will show up like this:
(this is if the bar is dyed green)
Creep Bar
This will be a fun little addition to minecraft, and players can trade certain candy bars and stuff, it won't serve a purpose, wrapping the bars, but it will be a fun little tidbit in the Minecraft universe.
Unwrapped and wrapped candy bars will replenish 5 hunger points (to make it valuable).
I can see this being used in iconomy, a little cake and pastries shop.
watch this short film to see the ideas in full --
