We have all the other ore blocks; Iron, Gold, Diamond, and even Lapis Lazuli. Not only can you use them for aesthetics, they help a ton with storage. But where are Redstone and Coal? Maybe even Flint?
Personally, I wouldn't walk on an area made of coal. It would just simply collapse. So, it could be affected by gravity, like sand or gravel. Same for redstone. They would have a similar texture to Lapis blocks.
Flint, however, is different. It is a more solid material. The block would be a reddish-grayish color, and would not affected by gravity. It would hold fire for quite a bit longer than most things (other than Netherrack) before burning out (not getting destroyed, but the fire stopping).
No. Redstone is a dust. Coal is an ore. And do you even know what flint is? It isn't a kind of material or substance. "Flint" simply means a sharp piece of rock. Crushing sharp pieces of rock together would create a giant chunk of undesirable spiky stone.

Anyone agree?
