In the update of Alpha 1.0.14, Notch added the Powered Minecart or Furnace Minecart into the game. The reason he did this is because people complained that there was no way to accelerate the minecart upwards or flat for a long distance with out a long downhill or using the side by side minecart glitch. He decided to listen to them. But of course, Notch is a Troll. The minecarts where very poorly made and did little good. They used up a lot of coal and where hard to use. They barley could push a minecart up a hill! This is why there must be a change. Here is a list of changes I think should be made to the Powered Minecart to make it actually useful.
Have a inventory where you can insert coal into the Minecart
Increase the push power of the Powered Minecart by 300%
Change the texture of the Powered Minecart so it doesnt look so ugly! It looks like Notch just stuck a furnace into the cart without changing anything.
Have a right-click toggle on the cart to turn thrust on or off.
Have the ability to change the direction in which the cart moves.
Heres the menu idea I came up with, I know my editing is bad but hey, its a concept.
For people who say why not just use powered rails?
Gold is rare compared to iron, and this powered cart would be more efficent and more train like.
totally invalidates any use or updating of the powered minecart.
No, no it doesn't. Powered rails are expensive and become overly complicated when trying to make a diverse, fully functioning rail system. Then again, so does the fact rails can't be split into two paths...
Either way, saying that powered rails invalidate the use of powered minecarts and that said minecarts shouldn't be updated is like saying bread invalidates the use of cookies and cookies shouldn't have been updated to be more useful.
Would you really have that on your conscious? Denying cookies of their freedom? You monster.
