Now that we have adventure mode in Minecraft, we need a way to actualy use it and make
adventure maps. Currently, all you can do is build a world in creative and tell people that you have
to switch to adventure mode. Well, this idea will allow people to make true adventure maps.
Behold... the adventure creator!
The adventure creator would be a lot like creative mode, but with some additions. First of all, if you place a monster somewhere, it will NOT despawn. This allows you to create just the right kind of room, full of just the
right ammount of just the right mobs.
And then you can do exciting new stuff with these mobs. In adventure creator, there would be an extra space on your hotbar that ALWAYS has the same item there: The mob config tool!
The mob config tool and what it does
The mob config tool is a tool that allows you to do exciting things with mobs. You can adjust the ammount of HP the mob has, how much EXP it drops, what items it drops, and other such things. Here's some of the things you can do.
HP adjuster: Allows you to assign whatever number of hearts you want to a mob.
Custom skinner: Allows you to make a mob skin based on the template for the mob's model. SO for example, if you wanted to make a zombie boss with red skin and black, empty eyes, you could take the zombie skin and edit it, then put it in the same folder as your current project, name it, say, "zomboss" and apply it to your boss.
Scaler: Allows you to scale a mobs model up to 5 times its original size.
Speed adjuster: Allows you to change the speed that a mob walks. The speeds are: Superslow: Iron golem speed Slow: zombie speed Normal:spider/human speed fast: sprinting speed Hyper: 40% faster than sprinting speed.
Death event: set the death event to whatever value you want. You can then Link it to a gate of the same value to make that gate open when the mob dies
New blocks
Gates: As mentioned in the mob config section, the gate will open when a mob with a death event value that corresponds to the gate value. You change the value of a gate by right-cliking and typing in the value in the GUI. note that this can ONLY be done while editing the map and players can not do it while playing it.
Mob border: Mobs can not walk through these blocks. Perfect for keeping bosses and stuff in a specific area. Mob borders are only visible in the adventure creator. Players can't see them.
Small locked door: Can only be opened with small keys.
Big locked door: can only be opened with big keys.
Unique key doors: can be set to a certain value similarly to a gate. Can only be opened with a Unique Key of the same value.
Player border: Players can not pass through these. Only visible in the adventure creator.
NPC configuration
Using the mob config tool on testificates brings up a different menu.
Shop menu: Allows you to specify what an NPC sells for how many emeralds, or if they sell anytihng at all.
Name editor: Change the testficates name (Can be seen when chatting)
Chat editor: changes what the testificate will say when you right-click it.
And that's the gist of it. WOuldn't this be cool? Too bad it'll never get added.
This is a very good idea!
However, I think it will be way to hard to code, so I don't really expect this to happen.
You should add new things to this suggestion!

Hard to code? Yeah, that's a shame. If only there were people who dedicated their work to coding difficult things... oh wait, PROGRAMMERS!
Anyways, I really like the idea. The whole adventure creator gamemode thing should just be another tab in the creative menu, though, titled "Mapmaking" or something. That would contain all the blocks and tools needed to make maps.
I was thinking it could be a sepperate program (Free if you already own Minecraft) that allows you to build the map then export the map as a world file set to adventure mode.
