---------------------------------------------------------------- Appearance:
Whispering Woods are neutral mobs that closely resemble small oak trees. If left untouched a Whispering Wood is recognized by minecraft as blocks like an oak tree instead of an entity such as a cow or minecart. However, when the player hits the Whispering Wood it will transform into an entity, very much like an iron golem. One of the few differences between a Whispering Wood and an oak tree are that a Whispering Wood has a face on the 2nd block wood block from the ground. When neutral the face will appear as if the Whispering Wood is in a peaceful slumber, but when it becomes hostile the Whispering Wood's eyes will open and rage will fill it's face.
Uses:
When killed, Whispering Woods will drop 3-5 wood, either an apple, golden apple, or Notch's golden apple ( a normal apple being the most common), and very rarely will also drop a Whispering Wood sapling. Whispering Wood sapling have the same requirements as an oak tree sapling. Once the sapling has grown into an adult Whispering Wood, you can feel free to extract syrup from it (which can be done with any Whispering Wood found in the wild also) with a bucket. After extracting the syrup you can put it on some bread in the crafting table to make some 2 mystical loaves of bread. A mystical loaf will heal you by 4 hearts and will replenish your armor bar by .
Behavior:
Whispering Woods are kind creatures who only wish to get some sleep, but when provoked they will fight back. They are rarely spawned in the forest biome when the world is generated. They share all the same traits as oak trees other than their faces and their ability to turn into an entity. When the Whispering Wood is an entity, they stay approximately the same size as their original form. They can not jump or climb ladders but they can float in water. Whispering Woods also move very slowly, but when attacking they can charge at you from 5 blocks away fairly quickly. They can also ONLY be damaged when hit on the face. When neutral Whispering Woods will make a very, very faint breathing sound that could easily be missed if the player is not paying attention. When it's hostile, the Whispering Wood will make a low-pitched noise which sounds somewhat like a grouchy, mumbling man. If you are killed or go far enough away from the Whispering Wood it will turn back into a neutral block-creature where you last left it.
Combat:
When fighting a Whispering Wood you must take into consideration how powerful it is. With 30 hearts (plus ) and an attack of 6 on normal mode, the Whispering Willow is a formidable foe. However, there are a few strategies to fight this creature. You could use a bow from a distance, set it on fire, or fight against it with some friends. Fighting close range single handedly can be very dangerous since Whispering Willows can suddenly charge at you from 5 blocks away. You must also make sure you hit it's face when using a sword or a bow since that is the only area where it can receive damage.
