We all greeted animal breeding with opens arms when we heard it coming. The thought of having farms to house our live stock and not venture into the wilderness for food, wool, milk, etc, was a thing of the past with the introduction of breeding. Until we hit a few very important walls.
1. Mobs don't respawn in already rendered chunks if killed. This means if you want live stock of any kind you are to go to an undiscovered area of the game and drag the animal back with some wheat. Or spawn it in other means.
2. Animal farms are annoying. With the constant moving around to collect items off sheep, chickens, and cows. You are constantly bumping things and being shoved around by the animals. Animals glitch out of pens sometimes.
3. They are annoyingly loud. I'm sorry but i don't know anyone who enjoys listening to those things bickering.
Suggestion.
Please bring back animal spawns. I don't like the only passive mob that respawns being a squid.
Animal farms were cool and innovative but for me and I'm sure others its just frustrating.
All passsive mobs respawn. Its rare but you can see this if you go into superflat and kill all the passive mobs in a small are. The spawning was severly decreased to go with the introduction of the hunger bar and then later breeding.
I do agree that animal farms are loud and obnoxious.

Arrival of Darkness, Darker yet recognizable textures.
I'm sorry, but animals respawning as they used to (they still do, as said above) is just as loud as an animal farm. If you don't want to listen to "moooo" all night, I suggest building your farm away from your house, as logic suggests you should.
I think people should do work for their food, if ever so slightly. It's so easy to get already, why make it so much easier by making animals respawn like they did in beta? Hell, I'd love to see animals drop less if killed by hand, encouraging people to craft farm-only wooden swords might be a good thing, but that's beside the point.

And if they want to hear the other sounds of Minecraft, such as breaking blocks, walking, or other background sound effects that nobody really notices, but still make up a major part of the game? We want Minecraft, not Mimecraft.
