Hey guys, Brandy here. I've been thinking, yeah you can go search dungeons/abandoned mines/ and raid the chests in the ol' smiths shop in villages for items. But when the trading villagers update comes, don't you think we should get Quests from them? They should add dialogue to the villagers and let them ask you to bring them things ranging from unrefined wood, cobblestone, all the way to Diamonds! And it's all a risk! You could bring them diamonds, but only get 128 cobblestone. Also, there should be cold coins to trade with villagers. Even more than gold coins possibly, maybe copper silver and gold?!
These mobs could give RARE drops, gold being the rarest copper being the least rare. Spiders can not carry higher than copper coins being that it's physically impossible for a spider to carry a coin anyways. Along with Bows, Power I bows, and the many items dropped from zombies, these currency used coins should be added to the rare drop table aswell .
The colors for these coins would be similar to the colors of the
ingots/ores.

The same for the silver and gold coins aswell.
Also you should be able to have a button to examine an item such as the 'C' button to examine the coin when in your hand so you can see the detailing.

-Smithite. Edit: Also, for the quests it should be possible to get experience or enchantments on an item for completing the quest!
Nonono, Emerald as currency please. And mobs dropping emeralds is also a no. But I do like quests, but diamonds for cobble is never good.
Oh, don't worry I don't want mobs dropping emeralds! ^.^ I think coins would've been more of a realistic currency, but I can understand a medieval trading sort of idea here. And thank you about the quests! Yes I know it would stink to bring him diamonds for cobble, but I don't think Mojang can make an exact loot chart for giving them certain items, which items you'll get back. But hey maybe for diamonds you can get experience or enchants!
1) No, emeralds are a good currency. Why do people keep trying to change it?
2) Mobs dropping money? What did they do, eat a rich guy?
3) Your quest idea just sounds like... trade.
This has been suggested many times before. Please search before posting.
