Health: 20 (10 hearts, same as the player) Attack: Depends on the players' combat style Spawning: Day and night, but only during rain or snow (it does not despawn as soon as the rain or snow ends, despawning is still normal) Appearance: Depends on the players' combat style
Background: The Scazzerwort is a very odd and dangerous creature. He is a demon, said to be the ruler of the Nether. The Scazzerwort taunts humans, attacking them using their weaknesses. He can be seen on rare occasions in his true, disgusting form, stalking people, watching their every move. He is a very stealthy creature, said to possess the ability to teleport, such as an Enderman. After watching his prey, he changes his form to take advantage of their styles of combat. However, the Scazzerwort is very conscious of his pride, and will be loyal to whoever conquers his power.
Attacks: The Scazerwort attacks based on the players' combat styles. Its attacks depend on which of its 3 forms it takes.
Spawning and Forms: The Scazzerwort only appears when it is raining or snowing, both day and night. It takes advantage of the darkness and uses it for cover. While watching the player, he is in his true demonic form. He is humanoid, and 4 blocks tall, covered in large spikes. He can be very identifiable because of the flames coming from his eyes. When is this form, if attacked, he will defend himself before quickly vanishing. These attacks are mainly melee attacks and fire breath. This all changes later on. Besides this true form, he has 3 other forms.
-Range: The Scazzerwort will attack with range if the player primarily uses swords. It will become smaller and less identifiable in this form. Its main forms of attack are fire breath and fire balls, similar to that of a Ghast. It will still deal damage with its claws at close range, but it will be much weaker. It also only has 7 hearts.
-Melee: If the player mostly uses bows for fighting, the Scazzerwort will become a much larger "tank" form. He will grow to be 6 blocks tall, and 3 blocks wide. In this form, he has 13 hearts, and relies on up-close attacks. Its main attack is to throw the player into the air about 6 blocks. The player then has time to get away as it moves slower than usual. However, once the Scazzerwort has only 5 hearts left, he "berserks" and moves and attacks much faster.
-Air: If the player depends on both sword and bows equally, the Scazzerwort is at its strongest form, but provides the best drops. In this form, he is 5 blocks tall, has 12 hearts, and has demonic bat wings. He attacks from the air with fireballs, and will eventually land when he has 6 hearts of health. On the ground, he will throw the player up 4 and a half blocks. In this form, he has powers of both of the other forms.
Defeat and Drops: Upon defeat, the Scazzerwort will become the players' "pet". It will keep the form it was killed in. The player may ride and control the Scazzerwort, and sometimes even become the Scazzerwort. Drops- The Scazzerwort drops a Summoning Staff. This can be used to call the Scazzerwort for aid in battle. This can only be used once every 20 minutes (a full Minecraft day) and he only stays for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, the Scazzerwort explodes, leaving a crater the size of a Creeper's explosion. He also has a chance to drop an iron sword if he was Range, a bow if he was Melee, or either if he was Air.
Becoming the Scazzerwort: There is also a very slim chance that the Scazzerwort may possess you. This occurs when you sleep, and only has a 1/200 chance of happening. You will wake up right away with flames (the torch particles) swarming around you. When possessed, your health has 12 hearts, you move a little bit faster, and you have all the abilities the Scazzerwort did when you fought him. This possession only lasts a minute and a half, but allows you to easily kill many mobs at night. While possessed, you can not interact with things such as crafting benches, furnaces, and other things like that. You can also not see your inventory. While possessed, your camera is also forced into third person view. Please tell me what you think below! I know it's long, but I was thinking about it a few days ago and it seemed really cool to me!
This was a great idea until the becoming the scazzerwort part. I'm sorry but thats just way too overpowered.
Props to you for the creativity though.
Yes, reading it again it does seem kind of stupid. xD I though of it on the spot. However, since he is a demon, he could somehow possess you to give you his powers, such as strength, attacks, and health.
Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. No becoming your pet, no possession and everything's fine. Nice idea. I would prefer it to be in a mod, however, as I don't think demons really fit Minecraft all that much. Also, I really don't agree with the name, "Scazzerwort." I think it should just be "Fire Demon" or something along those lines.
You know, I would think that being possessed by this guy would kind of... you know... kill you?
Good idea! After being possessed it could kill you, which wouldn't be too bad because you can only become possessed while sleeping, but it does include some danger, as you may lose all of your items.

Cats.
Idk why I thought of that name, but it stands out xD
Now I'm not mad when I say this, but why does everybody not like possession? He's a demon, so it's kind of fitting xD
Because it's just a bit overdone, ya know? It would make him a major part of the game, and nothing is a major part of Minecraft, it all just meshes, ya know what I mean? Plus, it's op.

Dear god no.
It was good until you started talking about it possessing you and riding it.
Also, dropping a diamond sword no matter how difficult is a little bit OP.
Cats.
Other than that this is brilliant. You've got a creative name and you've done well presenting your mob idea.
