Slimes are rare mobs that produce a very useful item, the slime ball. Slimes split into smaller slimes which is a very challenging thing to deal with. But slimes are sometimes very weak so I would like to give them more abilitys to make the battle more juicy =)
1. Joining Up
Smaller slimes when left alone will heal up and join up together to create huge slimes. (I have an I dea that huge slimes can turn into mega slime, nerf maybe?) The slimes are that are composed of smaller slimes do not drop xp.
2. Slime trail
Huge slimes will leave a trail of green slime like the ones snow golems create. Slime trails slow you down much to the effect of cobwebs and can only be harvested for slime balls with a teir iron shovel. Medium and tiny slimes can both spawn from the slime trails.
3. Camo Slimes
Slimes change colour to which matches the the terrain its on. On grass it is green, on any type stone it is grayish green, in water it is bluish green, on obsidian it is dark green, on snow and ice it is ligh green.
4. Hungry Slimes
Slimes eat all the entitys in their path (Minecarts, Minecart tracks, Unplaced blocks, cobwebs, crops, and the new cocoa plants). The entities eaten will be visable inside it's body and will drop the items when killed

The huge slimes seem too destructive, maybe they could leave a slime trail that slows you down? I like the idea of slimes rejoining together, because slimes are too easy to kill.
I like slimes rejoining together, however the shockwave seems too over powered. I would like to see slimes generate in jungles naturally though even if it is rare. I think they should have a different skin when they do. Maybe twigs and branches and leaves stuck to them to camoflage them in the brush. The other thing i think slimes really need is the ability to eat random stuff, items dropped, blocks, something and then grow larger.
I like the slime rejoining part, but not with the huge slime though. Large slimes can be cramped enough in caves as it is, and enough slimes merging together creating these new huge ones could cause it suffocate and just split into smaller ones again. As everyone else said, the shockwave is kinda overpowered.
