here is my idea for minecraft: voidstone. it is a special block that you can find ONLY in the bottom-most layers (the bedrock layers, to be exact). it has the capabilities to be made into ANYTHING! (tools, weapons, armor, etc). an interesting property of voidstone is that when you mine it, it RISES instead of falls; otherwise, it would fall into the void. it is also very noticeable; it glows (slightly), it is a lighter color than regular stone, and when you walk on it, it sounds like wood. an interesting note: you can mine it by hand however, if you mine it with , you get TWO instead of one. also, if you smelt it, you will get TEN. i am not sure what its durability rating would be, maybe somewhere between and .
edit: it appears i didnt make my idea clear enough so; i will now. when i said it is found in the bottom layers, i didn't mean the EXACT bottom. it floats because if there happens to be a hole below it, the item would just fall straight to the void; also, it would be punishment to those who mine straight down. i forgot to mention that if you -with a crafting table- place it in the center with obsidian on the sides and eyes of ender in the corners, you would get 'prepped' voidstone; if you put that in the furnace, you would get five (instead of ten, to make it fair). when i said it could be make anything, i really meant anything: armor, tools, weapons, doors, pressure plates, fences, stairs, and slabs. i am not sure if it would be that durable; maybe between and . if you mine the voidstone with , you will still get two; the reason i chose an odd tool is because it would force you to bring it along with you (it also gives it another purpose)
What you are saying here is that by mining this it would open a hole into the void, allowing the player to fall down in there. Bad idea right there. If you are at bedrock you arent going to mine it with your fists either.
Why do you get 10 when you smelt it exactly? If you mined with a tool you would get 2, times 10 for smelting gives you 20 right away. Even if it were rare, you would only have to find 2 blocks of it to make full armor and all the tools/weapons you need.
How often would you find it?
Why is another material for tools and aromor needed?
I really don't think this is a good idea, no support from me.
Smelting voidstone into 10 voidstone is a really bad idea. REASON: Because, you will get 10 voidstone after smelting it, then you will smelt a voidstone and you will get unlimited voidstone.
Mining voidstone and falling into the Void is a really bad idea. REASON: The bedrock protects us from falling into the Void when mining.
Making an exact copy of the stone texture and making it brighter, then it will sound like wood and it will drop two voidstone is a really bad idea. REASON: Because, the wood step sound effect is actually for wooden planks and tree wood, not for stone.
REASON #2: Because, dropping two voidstone is actually overpowered, and why it will rise? Mojang is not gonna implement upside down gravity.
It's confusing ! What do you mean by ANYTHING ? I guess more than tools, weapons and armors since you put "etc" ...
This is still confusing ! Your sentence sounds like : "It RISES while you're mining it"
I guess you meant : "Like Gravel and Sand, it's affected by gravity, but instead of falling, it RISES"
This makes sooooo much sense for a rock
mining with a ... hoe ... gives you ... twice as much ... as mining with ... anything else ...
You can't be serious, guy ... Tell me you're just kidding ...
Okay, You aren't kidding ... You're a troll then.
Sure ! As it's fully renewable and super easy to get, it must be stronger than Iron which is somewhat rare and barely renewable
Conclusion : You're a troll or drunk. You didn't put any thought in your idea. Your voidstone is completely unbalanced and senseless.
I didn't expected this at all when I saw the title : "minecraft idea: voidstone", it sounded appealing. Too bad, guy !

Which is the only part that needs to be added.
