We need more food in Minecraft. Like, more than we have. So, the food we have right now is......
Cookies (repulsive.) Mushroom Stew
:-( ): Apples Bread Raw and cooked Porkchop Raw and cooked Steak
Raw and cooked Chicken Cake
Zombie Flesh (simply delicious, huh?)
Spider Eyes (even tastier!!!)
I'm sure I missed some food.
Okay, so that means we have 6 actual food, 1 block of food, and 2 gross/inconvenient consumables.
Food that should be implemented:
Fried/boiled/cooked/whatever eggs. (fills 2 hunger points.
Raw and cooked sausages (Crafted by 1 raw steak and 1 raw porkchop next to each other and you get 3 raw sausages) ( Cooked it fills 4 hunger points, raw it fills 1)
Raw and cooked potatoes (common potato seeds in dungeon chests, managed like wheat) (fills 3 hunger points cooked, 1/2 raw)
Oranges (found commonly in trees, left click to achieve an orange) (fills 1 hunger point)
If you have more ideas of food, please notify me and I'll add them to the list.
This idea wasn't thought of for 5 years, if you have criticism make sure it's constructive.
More food would be interesting, but not necessary. I like the origninality of s couple of your ideas and the fact that you didn't just ask for more foods and end it there like most poeple do.
Why are more foods necessary? We already have a number of perfectly viable foods from different sources. We already have foods from mobs, foods that can be grown, and foods that can be crafted - all of which heal different amounts of hunger. Some of them even cause status effects (good and bad).
I don't see a real need to add more foods unless they do something that the others don't. As I see it, this just looks like a purely cosmetic change.
