This idea is all about Necromancy, the act of raising the dead with dark magic. Ever since I got the Computer version and learned about enchanting I wanted to role play the evil mage (I do live in a volcano), however to my dismay it wasn't possible. I was able to role play an evil miner with an efficiency pickaxe mining village houses but it wasn't the same.
So here is my plan for necromancy!
Necromancy will use the same bar that enchanting does and will have its own altar (a re-skinned enchanting altar) When you head to the altar you are given a list of creatures (Creepers, Pigs, Enderdragon, Cows, Etc),the amount of experience, and how many of their respective items (Creepers drop gunpowder so gunpowder for them, Pigs obviously pork chops, etc) you will need to raise them from the dead.
Once risen from the dead they will have an obviously decomposed look and will serve you like a tamed pet. Now to stop this from just being a boring evil pet maker I have one more thing to suggest for this idea, the Petra Malum (To my knowledge, Latin for evil stone... hence why I named it in Latin )
Petra Malum is crafted by combining Three Nether-rocks and One Obsidian. This item, when right clicked on your summoned pet will activate a secret move (which I shall list in the necromancy guide below)
The Guide Format: Animal/EXP level needed to summon/Item needed to summon/Special Move
Chicken/1/Egg/Shoulders of Giants (Chicken size doubles that of player's and becomes a mount) Cow/1/Beef/Rage (Cow's health and damage doubles and attacks anything except the summoner for thirty seconds, afterwards it dies) Pig/1/Pork chops/Morph (Turns into a zombie pig man) Sheep/1/Wool/PIN Zombie/2/Rotten Flesh/ PIN Creeper/2/Gunpowder/Miner (Creeper holds still and begins the explode animation, player has ten seconds to run. Creeper detonates with three times it's usual force but all destroyed blocks are recoverable) Skeleton/2/Bones/PIN Enderdragon/20/Dragon Egg(Thank you Astrotrap)/Take to the WIND! (Allows you to take to the skies on the back of the enderdragon, it has it's own attack (fire breathing) at the cost of some of it's life points.)
Glossery:
PIN=Poster improvement needed. I encourage posters (or mojang) to contribute to my ideas. So if you want to fill in the PIN with something, just post it (full credit will be given of course)
An excellent idea. Enderdragons, however, should not be summonable, as they are very powerful and a bit of a blatant (and infinitely effective) griefing tool. (If summonable, the required item should be the Dragon Egg)
Many of the creatures would likely be overpowered. Netherrack and obsidian are easily obtained, and turning EVERYTHING into a zombie for 30 seconds would be VERY overpowered. (think about it... everything becoming your minion).
Other than that, very complete and detailed suggestion. Not the best Necromancy suggestion, but a good one nevertheless.
Thank you for the ideas and support, I will see if I can redo some of the summoned to be less overpowered.
Edit: Added Dragon Eggs as a requirement for Enderdragon and boosted level need to 20. I also removed the zombie ability (currently PIN) while I think of something else, as for the Stone, I am still thinking of a recipie that will not be too easy/too hard.
