here is my idea. when you play minecraft and create/play a map changes to the map are saved to your computer so you dont have to have alot of space on your harddrive to have alot of maps and you can switch computers without having to stop playing a map
well atleast i know some OTHER games that can save it to a server and the 1st part was for in browser because it actualy makes a .minecraft folderso why not make the maps save to a server????
realy if your computer crashes and you have to borrow your friends computer to play minecraft you cant play the same map
This doesn't change the fact that it wouldn't be feasible for a small company like Mojang to hold all of everyone's map data for free, while the amount of data is increasing by gigabytes every day.
If you want to access your world anywhere, then put it on a portable USB drive.
If you know anything about installing mods then you should know where your .minecraft file is saved, it's not hard to duplicate a file onto a USB drive.

It is an interesting but depressing reality that most politicians are just regular people with power. And most people would be as bad as politicians if only they could get some power.

Firstly, do this, as the above poster said. Easy and probably better than the cloud (remember how often the login servers go down?)
Also, your OP makes no sense. How would saving a file to the hard drive REDUCE hard drive use?

Minecraft saves to your hard drive. You can't access that from other computers.
Let's go take a look at my maps folder. 1.26 GB
This is probably higher than average, so let's divide by four. 315 MB.
Now multiply by everyone who plays Minecraft. 2049.65 TB.
That's a lot of data. It's simply unfeasible to carry out.
