Here is my proposition: Specific roof blocks that add to the architectural possibilities of minecraft, designate blocks that monsters can't spawn on, and a specific block that villagers will recognize as a roof so that the player can vary how villager towns appear. Additionally, villagers could be programmed to stay off of designated roof tiles. I've shown recipes for clay tile, slate shingles, wood shingles, and thatch roofs.
FINALLY, I can burninate peasants in their thatch roofed cottages!
Joking aside, that's a brilliant idea. The brick roofs look wicked sick.
The only problem I see is that people might exploit their abilities to prevent mobs spawning and use it as a floor in a room they want to keep dark. Or maybe that's another intention, I don't know.
Unless those texture's aren't yours, you should TOTALLY make a texture pack.
As for the idea, 100% support! I came expecting a horrible idea, but when I saw how you had actually put a lot of effort in this, and that this was actually a good idea - I just couldn't help clicking that little arrow.

(My other idea is also in this album, but will be covered in a second post.)
