I've always hated the texture for glass. It looks like some freakish grid of blue-ish white... stuff. Well, I think it's time to change. We've all seen ice, so we know that slight transparency is possible, so I say that glass be a slightly opaque block. But why stop there? What if you could tint glass different colors? Using dye on glass would tint it the corresponding color but still have the same amount of transparency. This would make much better glass, in my opinion.

Alas, my friend, you have planted yourself right next to death itself! How's that for a 'peaceful state?'

Colored glass is most possible the most suggested thing on the forums. In my opinion, it's not useful without colored lighting, and since lighting doesn't yet, if it will ever, have the overhaul to make colored lighting, colored glass should not be made.
It's not slightly opaque like glass because people want to actually see out of their windows. Many texture packs get hundreds of downloads that simply change the glass texture and nothing else, use one of those. The vanilla texture looks perfectly fine, it allows you to actually see the glass and where you're placing it, and build glass floors that don't look like giant coordinate planes (as most texture packs leave the glass frame around glass).

It's a close race between handheld torches, Herobrine, obsidian tools, a PS3 version of Minecraft, and colored glass, I think.
Hmmmm.
