It has come to my attention that the doors in Minecraft are a little "annoying."
What I mean is that doors are sometimes "funky" and do weird things.
*On outdated servers doors switch places when they are doubled.
*Levers and such sometimes open and close doors when not necessary.
But my biggest probliem with doors is that there are 2 places to put them on one block. I know this isn't that big of a problem, but I think it will help make houses for people in survival: they don't have to go in the night to place the door a certain way. AKA get blown up or shot at y skellys.
My solution for this is that I think Jeb should make the doors ONLY able to be placed in the middle of blocks, like glass panes, fences, etc.
Thank you, and please comment if you think this is ridiculous or smart! Also I know that the doors require a block to open, but Mojang can see what they can do with that.
No. I want my doors to be seamless in the wall if a want to. Maybe doors should be placable like half slabs in the snapshot, and go on the side of the block you're looking at, instead of where you're facing.
And I'm not sure but I think the shooting through door issue is fixed. You can place you door from the inside and be safe.
the door's width is equal to that of a block. If placed in the center of a block, when the door swung open it would extend into the next block, making even more problems. not to mention it would look ugly

*On outdated servers doors switch places when they are doubled. Well, there's your problem. Jeb can't fix outdated versions, you need to update to fix that.
*Levers and such sometimes open and close doors when not necessary. That is completely base on how placed a door. If you placed a door to the side, open it so it appears to be in the closed state when looked at differently, the lever will take it as opened.

AKA get blown up or shot at y skellys. You are not exposed to stand on the same block as the door is placed, if you stand one block back your safe. Plus, your able to hit things through the door's "window" now.
My solution for this is that I think Jeb should make the doors ONLY able to be placed in the middle of blocks, like glass panes, fences, etc. I used to think that way too, but that would not be able to be done. The reason it is placed on one edge of a block is so that it can open. If it was placed in the middle, when opened it would stick out the edge of the entry-way, outside of the block it was placed on. That would have to create a whole new block just for the half of the door that pops out. Plus, people like having a flat wall, the door not being pulled into the wall. Weather they like it flat on the inside or out differs from person to person.
Thank you, and please comment if you think this is ridiculous or smart! In my opinion, rediculous.
Also I know that the doors require a block to open, but Mojang can see what they can do with that. Didn't see this when i read it first, but making a new block is highly unneeded. I once read a saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
