Weather in Minecraft is so simple it needs an upgrade. I hate how all of a sudden it starts raining or snowing. There needs to be some sort of transition, like dark clouds rolling in and raining, and also big storms like hurricanes in Ocean biomes that can cause waves and raise water levels along shores. Please give any other suggestions or comments.
Well, in the new Snapshot, (I forget which one) the rain stops/starts more gently when using the "toggledownfall" command. Actually, I've never played the snapshot, so I'm not sure if it's just when you use the command or whenever weather changes. Either way, I think Mojang is getting to this.
As for waves, dark clouds, etc., not sure if those are coming, though I support.
Well, the sky gets darker before it starts raining and gets lighter before it stops.
Secondly, you fail to describe how this would work. Is it a graphics effect? Do clouds actually come in? What?
I don't see oceans working aside from a graphics change, and rising sea levels would just be griefing and rather ugly.

I agree that minecraft needs more weather but not in this way. I really do not want waves coming up on shore and knocking down torches, sugar cane, etc.

Kingdoms rise and fall. Just don't burn the paintings in the Louvre, that's all.

It would make seawalls necessary when building next to oceans - which would be kinda cool. It could also make an actual ocean biome unique to rivers, swamps, and lakes (is there a "lake" biome or just small oceans?).
But there's no way this would be implemented. Too similar to griefing. It would make an interesting mod just to see the mechanics of how it works.
