So yeah, title. I think Minecraft should have some sort of thirst bar, and I have a few suggestions relating to thirst/hunger, so I hope you read .
Ye' Old Drybones
How does Steve live so long dehydrated? Sure, he can take baths, but the only thing he can do with his mouth is eat. So, let me get started by saying I think Hunger and Thirst should be options. If you turn hunger off, food directly heals Health, if you turn Thirst off, drinks also directly heal health. And there is no way to turn Health off >_> (Stfu SPC guys.)
So, the bar will right above the hunger bar, and it is composed of ten droplets of water. Each droplet is composed of two halves. Just living will drain your thirst bar, and running around/breaking blocks/placing blocks will decrease your thirst bar. If it gets too low, it should give you the Nether portal effect and drain your health. If it's high up, you will be able to perform more efficiently (break blocks quicker, run faster, etc.)
Also, while touching water in some way, you will not lose thirst.
So let me list the ways you can hydrate yourself - **NOTE** I am trying to stay true to Minecraft's simple theme, so I won't be suggesting crazy multi-step operations.
Water Bottles:
Self explanitory, explanatory. Drink some water from a water bottle, gain half of a thirst point. I think it's important that this is low because this takes no effort at all, you can just hold a bottle in your inventory, face a stream and hold down right click to fill it up infinitely.
Purified Water:
The next step - smelting your water bottle will turn it into Purified Water, which will grant you three thirst points and return an empty bottle.
Apple Juice:
I just had to . Easy recipe - a purified water bottle, apple and sugar anywhere in the crafting grid. Grants you four thirst points and two hunger points. Returns an empty bottle.
Tea:
Another easy recipe - a purified glass of water, some paper and some leaves (any kind.) Will grant you five thirst points.
Red/Yellow Juice:
And the last but not least recipe - place a purified glass of water, sugar and a red/yellow flower. Will grant you four thirst points.

As you can see, somewhat simplistic - no new blocks/ores/plants required, and I don't think it's overpowered much. Feel free to leave feedback!
Yep, I did, and I don't like how complex it is. Are you going to stalk my suggestions trying to downplay them?
Are you going to cry that I'm "stalking" you just because I happen to comment on your suggestions that were posted in a public forum for anyone and everyone to remark upon? Man up or get offline.
People didn't like the thirst idea before yours. Why would yours fare better? It's just a redundant hunger bar with a new name. You'd know that if you had read the other thread suggesting this.
