I have ideas for technology in Minecraft. No, not heavy duty shotguns and nukes, but normal, peaceful technology powered by redstone. Yes, redstone. Now you may argue that we are supposed to be stranded on a island and stuff, but may I remind you that we have redstone, and I would like to use to redstone to become more modern and stuff. Ok, lets start with the redstone power generator. When it is active, it lights up all redstone lamps within a 200-block radius, which can be turned off by right clicking on the lamps. That way, you can reserve wall space for decoration, and so you wont have to put levers everywhere. You craft it like this.

Yes, that's how you craft it. Another idea is the motor, which can be used to power minecarts and boats. It raises the maxnuim speed, and is controllable for both vechicles, allowing you to control the speed of minecart. Another good thing about this is that it allows you to move backward, so you can put your minecart in reverse speed.

To craft a powered minecart or boat, you place a minecart or boat anywhere on a crafting grid with a motor, which means you can craft it in 4x4. When your boat breaks, you get the motor back along with the sticks and wood, When a minecart breaks, it drops a powered minecart.
Fantastic! We shall all tremble in fear of your completely unexplained opinion.

I wouldn't mind more redstone technology, personally, but I feel that first we need to make redstone wiring easier. Also, while more applications are fine, Notch made it clear when he was in charge, and Jeb to the best of my knowledge supports, a low-tech aesthetic. The prime example of this is the piston, for which you seem to have a fondness. It's made of stone and wood, and looks like something you might find on Gilligan's Island. What does that mean for more technology? It means that having it is fine, but it should look like something that the Professor could make out of pure intellect and coconuts.
What I'm getting at is that those solid iron frames don't work.Maybe something more akin to these...

I agree with AnonTheMouse. Also, there should be lightning particles going from the generator to any nearby lamps (only if it only goes through air) on fast graphics.

Yes, yes, yes.... Also, I want a type of gun, not a heavy duty shotgun, but a good old fashioned flint-lock. What's wrong with modern? I think it's stupid that our technogly is very, very primitive. I think of this as a civilization game, time to update.
I would like to see powered minecarts more powerful but making motors I don't really like. Minecraft is not suppose to be modern and should not have wireless power sources. And guns, No. If you really want guns get a mod because guns would not fit into minecraft. It would be to easy unless all the hostile mobs got changed to be harder what would much more work for the developers.

So, do you like the ideas?
But a redstone generator could power stuff with redstone connected to it. Not just place it and let it power ****.
I am ninja'd far too often.

Generator
This would look something like a Jacob's Ladder or Tesla Coil.
Engine
Imagine it having a generator where the cauldron is.
(The furnace is included because the original powered minecart used one.)
Good Idea.

Minecraft is supposed to be medieval-themed...not technology-themed or future-themed.
Screw Medieval. Explain my Redstone wiring.
