Okay first off, I've been playing Minecraft from the very start,
and I honestly think its time to focus on more ITEMs to add in the game
instead of gameplay.
For instance, who ever built a road? Black wool with some white wool lines?
Would you love it if there were cars in game?
Or some kind of vehicle?
A vehicle should be a big project Notch should add.
We Minecraft Player love to decorate our homes,
we love to be ARTISTIC
BUT we are limited on the stuff we can use to make our house"appealing for the eyes"
Notch, they don't have to be functional, but at least take some time,
to work on small projects like this.
Who wouldn't want to have a TV block?
Microwave, Ceiling Fans?
Rugs???
TRASH CANS >
Just for fun.
*I know there are mods, BUT COME ON!! It would be much less of a hassle, if it was
just in the game.*
I think it would add extra YEARS of gameplay, and think of all the possibilities of HOMES!! and different texture packs that can be created for such an update!!
Minecraft is essentially an Indie survival game. You're not supposed to get modern stuff. Maybe more old-timey vehicles would be good (e.g., horses, carts, and ships,) but certainly not cars.

Alright... how do you think "phones" would look at the low texture quality items hold? And what purpose what they hold to ANYTHING in survival? You could blow it up to start a fire maybe, but that's an absolutely rediculous idea for a use of a "phone" item. Secondly, Notch is no longer working on/developing Minecraft. That's all on Jeb and his new bukkit team now. It's unclear what time-period Minecraft takes place in, but it's clearly not a very technologically advanced era, but modern household appliances WOULD NOT fit in well.

You're right, thanks bro. And yeah I agree on your idea.

I should take off the Iphone..and digital stuff. I was actually aiming for more home decorations and such. And Maybe it can blend it with the "time-era" the game holds.
Minecraft doesn't seem like the type of game that would be modernized. However, I think things like rugs, curtains, chairs, love seats, tables, and wall blocks would be nice.
Rugs - you could just slap one down. It would be a little thinner than a snow plate, but it would be an entity, so you could place blocks in one if you wanted.
Curtains - you can place them over windows. Right click to close - that way mobs can't see you through the windows.
Chairs - sitting down causes your hunger bar not to deplete as fast. So you can just sit and chill out.
Love seats - same as above.
Table - it's just a fancy block that you can place items on, such as cake, pressure plates, and dragon eggs.
Wall blocks - Things like clocks, maps, Eyes of Ender, leather, gems (maybe in a display case?), and music disks would be nice if you hung them on the walls. You could just right-click your wall to place them, unless it was a functional block - like a crafting bench, note block, jukebox, furnace, et cetera.
I'm sure there are a lot more ideas out there but those are just some that I would like to see.
I prefer to make furniture out of slabs and signs and other materials in the game not to have real furniture. The game is not suppose to be modern. I agree instead of a car have a horse and cart.

I build roads all the time, paving them with smooth stone, cobble or gravel usually. They aren't just for decoration; they make sprinting from one place to another MUCH easier, especially when the elevation changes are eased with slabs.
There is no need for a car, but a wagon would make sense, provided it was not self-propelled. That is, you'd need to pull it, or have a way to harness a cow to pull it. It should be essentially like a storage minecart in function, just for cargo and not for passengers. See This topic
There have been many suggestions for furniture (some by me, even: tabletops and seating).
As for other decorations, we actually have a LOT of options, but we have to be inventive and use the components already in the game to make attractive living spaces.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
